Discussion: Question for those who pitch

I pitch and I like many use the full extent of the box at the time the ball is pitched and then in essence head for higher ground. For me that means backing up to the left or right depending on the batter. The pitcher is a defensive player by design. I prefer to protect myself then to have a bad rule protect me.

Discussion: Trump X-Rock

Anyone using the Trump X-Rock ball. I'm having a problem with covers tearing and was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. Used 6 new balls in a Sunday league and had 4 with torn covers after about 2 innings. Apparently they are not durable or I got lemons. Any comments. So far no response from Trump about it.

Discussion: Lodging for T of C - Florida in January

In Lakeland usually the best bang for the buck is at the Holiday Inn South, The Swan and the Howard Johnson's. We play Fl. Half Century tournaments in Lakeland about 3 to 4 times a year. These 3 cater to senior softball players. Also lots of good places to eat that are close

There is a team from Golden Isles Ga (I believe near Valdosta) that plays monthly. There must be a way to join the league if you have a team in Ga.

No Janis fans out there. Lets try this one. Don McLean wrote and recorded American Pie (song not the movie) When asked what did he say American Pie meant?

Being a pitcher, I believe its because most players don't think its a skill position. That you are there just to keep the game moving. In the upper brackets, with all the homers, the pitcher is considered a batting practice pitcher. Now with the new rules about hitting back at the pitcher, there will be even less respect.

It doesn't matter that you figure out a batters weakness now and then and throw the ball there so they pop up or : keep it out of the parking lot". Its a lack of respect for the position. That's my two cents
