Discussion: info on 65 major teams and where they intend to travel this year

Hi Ken If you click on the summit to the left side of the message board and then click on NASCS, you will be on the World Series site. I guess you could also search under the NASCS and come up with it. They have not set the dates or location yet for this years national tournament. It was in Lincoln Nebraska last year and they are trying to find a location that will pull more participation. I told him to look at the new fields in Sparks Nev. as I thought it would help draw a lot of teams. That is an awesome facility to play on. They also have qualifiers for the national and that is why we play in Omaha as it is a dual qualifier. What team are you with and does your team plan on attending any tournaments I mentioned we were going to play. Thanks for the reply. Don P Wyo 22

Discussion: info on 65 major teams and where they intend to travel this year

The scrap iron 65,s a major team is preparing our schedule for this year and plan to play in Reno, in May, Omaha Neb. in June Salt Lake City in Aug. Dalton Georgia in Sept. St. George in Oct, Phoenix in Oct. and Las Vegas in Nov. We would appreciate other 65 major teams letting us know where they are going so we know if there is going to be good turn out for the tournaments. We have let you know above where we intend to play. Any information you post for us would be very helpful as I am sure you would like to have the same information. We may also play the World series once they decide when and where it is to be played. The Omaha tournament is a dual qualifier for SPA and also the World Series. Looking forward to see a lot of you in the not to distant future. Enjoy the rest of the winter (yeah I know its not winter for a lot of you but it is here in Wyoming.) Don Pierson 22

Discussion: New fields in Sparks

one other question that I forgot to answer. Scrap Iron 65's won the Major division over the Calif Bald Eagles. the first game was 24 to 23 and won in the bottom of the 7th. The second was 20 to 19 and also won in the bottom of the 7th. Scrap iron was fortunate to be the home team in both games. The results would have been the opposite had they been the home team. It was a great match up and they have a very good team. They are also a great bunch of guys. Great tournament and a good time. Don P Wyo 22

Discussion: New fields in Sparks

a question wAas asked about the new fields in Sparks. they were awesome. The best playing surface I have ever played on, and I have played on the field of dreams in Calif. It certainly is a beautiful facility and one that will be a big draw in the future for the Rock n Reno and other tournaments held there.
The weather was not good for our bracket on Tues and Wed. but even after the rain the playing surface was good. We will certainly be anxious to return to play another day on these wonderful fields. I would encourage any team who did not attend this year to attend next year and experience them for yourself. Don Pierson Scrap Iron 65's Major team

Discussion: Prayers requested for Murl Skalla

Latest information on Murl's condition. I received px call from Dennis Lutz this morning and he had visited Murl and he is recovering rrom surgery quite well. He may be moved from ICU to a regular hospital room today. His good friend whom many of you know Kenny Green is with him a lot as well as a lot of his family. Murl was planning on taking a year off from senior ball this year and have his knee surguries completed so this is certainly a set back from that respect. He still needs our prayers for a sucessful recovery and all of us here with the Scrap Iron Club really appreciate your prayers and thoughts. Be seeing a lot of you in the near future, be safe and GOD bless. Don Pierson Scrap Iron 65's
