Sorry Joe. I have to disagree with you. Our team usually rotates 2 extra outfielders and one infielder throughout the game to try and keep everyone fresh. If that means batting 13 or 14 players, that is what we do most of the time. It's a TEAM game. As for being serious about winning, we are as serious as most. We batted at least 13 in every game in the Worlds last month and didn't lose once. Sorry Joe. no Special players, everyone should have a chance to contribute. My $.02

Semper Fi. USMC 10/65-12/68. I was blessed not to have to go to Nam, 13 months in Okinawa 66&67 was only overseas duty. We are all so blessed to live in this country and I hope we never forget what so many have sacrificed. Only tough duty was burial details back in California during last 6 months, and I still get misty when I hear taps.

DON'T stay at "Days Inn". We stayed there last year and it wan a dump.
Two couples left and went somewhere else.

Check out Condos at Park City. Very reasonable. We went up there (30 min drive)on day we had late games and had a blast. Beautiful scenery. Next time we will stay there.

The problem with the deadball out or walk is it punishes the good fielding pitchers. I would hate to see all those doubleplays lost on our team.

Wood,
It was good to see you again. To answer your question, we (Robson Ranch) won our division. Although we have to give much of the credit to the two REAL M+ guys who helped us. We really enjoyed playing with Big Hank and Steve. They are true gentlemen and GREAT ball players. We had 4 guys that couldn't make the trip, and their addition for this tournament was welcomed. I still don't know why our game with you was the only one with unlimited homeruns. Those 30+ MPH winds blowing straight out definitely helped us stay closer. I'm pretty sure you would agree that our team is not M+ yet. We have been working to close the gap, and hopefully with some more work we will get there. Remember, the only reason we ended up with more runs than you was the extra runs you had to give us. I think the idea of 3 divisions may have merritt. We aren't guaranteed the right to win. We are only supposed to have competitive games, with the chance of winning. I think 3 divisions would solve a lot of the issues with small brackets, and make sand bagging harder.
Sorry for the rambling. Again it was great to see you again. Thanks again to Hank and Steve.
On a side note: Now I can say that I have met the STONEMAN.
WOW!

WOW, Thanks for the heads up on the rooms. What team do you play for? I guess my wife will be happy enough with the hotel now. I owe you a beer.

We are (most of us) just out here trying to have fun. Part of having fun is hitting the ball well and feeling good about the results. I'm not sure the HR rule is going to make the lower M+ teams more competitive with the top teams, especially in 50 and 55. This may affect our team occasionally (we are now in M). I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt to see how it plays out this year. I like to hit HR's as much as the next guy, but I get just as much enjoyment running the bases or running down a fly ball to rob someone (if I don't drop it). The SSUSA is not going to drop this until it is tested for awhile, so we might as well relax and enjoy being able to "PLAY BALL".
Sorry for rambling so much.
I just wanted to get this discussion back on track now that it has been "DIRTIED" by a 1000 batter and 300 bowler from Ohio.

If the 45 minute drive is not a problem, you might consider staying at the California/Nevada state-line at South Lake Tahoe. It is about the same distance to Carson City, has casinos, and is probably one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Only know 60 Major at Papago. Robson won 4 team division. Paradise Chevrolet, Rusty's and NM Dukes were all fighting it out for 2nd when we went for beer.
Maybe someone else can help with the others
As for the ball, 44/375. It seemed to carry fine, but better in morning when ball was new and temps cooler.
The new HR rule didn't come into play in any of our 6 games for either team. The most I saw was 4 for one team in one game.
