OMG, Do you really believe the bat/ball combo ruined the game?Ask players from all divisions and age groups. It makes our game.We sacrifice some defense for offense and the balanced game is there for you act upon.Money, time off from work and family play a big role.I play SSUSA because of the good combo.I have spent thousands of dollars to travel and if you take the good equipment away I will keep my money and play locally.I fear for SSUSA,the players and all who profeit from our travel if we make major changes.

IT STARTED A LONG TIME AGO WITH THE DEMARINI DOUBLE WALL BAT. POLY CORE BALLS WERE THE NORM AND MOON SHOTS BEGAN.HONED OUT SINGLE WALL BATS STARTED AROUND THE SAME TIME FOR THOSE WHO DIDNT WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY TO COMPETE WITH THE DOUBLE WALL.REMEMBER THE PINGS FROM THE SINGLE WALL.A GOOD BAT 25 YEARS AGO WITH A RED DOT WENT A LONG WAY.FYI,I HAVE A NEW DUDLEY T4000 BALL WITH A WARNING LABEL ON IT,NOT FOR SALE BUT COOL TO SEE.

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING SENIOR BALL FOR TWO YEARS AND THE COMPETITION LEVEL AT 50 MAJOR IN PHOENIX WAS AS EQUAL AS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A TOURNAMENT.IN 2008 IN MY OPINION THER WERE MAJOR PLUS TEAMS PLAYING MAJOR.IN 2009 EVERY TEAM I PLAYED AND WATCHED WAS A MAJOR TEAM.IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO WATCH TEAMS AS THEY CHANGE FROM YEAR TO YEAR.

EINSTEIN,HOLD YOUR GROUND ON MAJORITY OF PLAYERS WANTING THE CURRENT EQUIPMENT.I PLAY FOR A TOP MAJOR TEAM AND ALL PLAYERS ON OUR ROSTER WANT TO KEEP THE CURRENT BAT/BALL COMBO. WE HAVE ADDED 2 NEW PLAYERS FOR 2010 AND THEY AGREE.IF ONE PLAYER WANTS CHANGE HE IS IN THE CLOSET.

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD A FEW THINGS.I LIKE THE BATS AND BALL WE USE IN PHOENIX.I AGREE THE MIDDLE IS PART OF THE FIELD AND I SHOULD BE READY TO PROTECT MYSELF.I WILL PROTECT MYSELF AS I FEEL NEEDED.I GOT EXCITED WHEN I TURNED 50 BECAUSE OF THE EQUIPMENT AND HOMERUN/SINGLE RULE.THE RULE WAS CHANGED AND I AM NOT AS EXCITED SPEAKING AS A PITCHER AND HITTER.

WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING.I AM IN MY SECOND YEAR OF SSUSA AND I PITCH,HIT WITH POWER AND CAN GO MIDDLE WITH FORCE.I HAVE BEEN BUZZED MANY TIMES IN THE BOX AND THEY ALL SEEM TO BE IN AN EFFORT TO NOT HIT THE BALL OVER THE FENCE.I USUALLY MOVE OUT OF THE WAY IF I FEEL I CANT GET GET A GLOVE ON THE BALL UNTIL THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN PHOENIX.I WAS HIT BY A LINE DRIVE 15 INCHES OFF THE GROUND BY A POWER HITTER IN THE FIRST INNING WITH 5 ON THREE,NO OUTS.I WAS TAKEN OUT AND WALK WITH A LIMP AND HAVE A OPEN SORE 10 DAYS LATER.I DONT WANT TO BE TARGET BECAUSE OF RULES AND I DONT WANT TO RETALIATE.

HOME RUNS FOR OUTS[NO],POSSIBLE BALL PERFORMANCE DOWN FOR SAFETY[AGREE],FOLLOWED BY LOWER BAT PERFORMANCE WOULD TAKE SSUSA DOWN.WE WOULD HAVE LITTLE RETURN FOR OUR INVESTMENT AND MAKE THE NECCESSARY CHOICES.

I HAD THIS SURJURY FOR THE SECOND TIME WEEKS AGO ON A FRIDAY AND RECOVERY WAS FAST WITHOUT REHAB.CRUTCHES AND ELEVATION FOR 48 HOURS.DROVE AND WALKED/LIMPED WITHOUT CRUTCHES MONDAY.DROVE MY ATV HARD A WEEK LATER. STARTED VOLLEYBALL AND SOFTBALL HITTING 8 WEEKS LATER DUE TO REDUCED FLEXIBILITY AND LACK OF REHAB.

Discussion: I have a simple question for those who have pitched.

IT IS MORE DANGEROUS IN 2009.I STOPPPED PLAYING OPEN BALL IN 2008 FOR SENIOR BALL AND LOVED EVERY MOMENT.I PITCH AND HIT HOME RUNS.I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO 2009.MANY OF THE MOST POWERFULL HITTERS WILL HIT THE CENTER OF THE FIELD BEFORE THE HOMERUNS ARE OUTS IF THERE ARE FEW RUNNERS ON BASE AND AFTER THEY ARE GONE THE "I'M SORRY" SWINGS BEGIN.HRS SHOULD NEVER BE OUTS IN SENIOR BALL.
