I might be interested. I currently play on a Major+ team. I play outfield and am quite fast. References provided if needed. Possibly another outfielder would be interested who is playing with me also.

Discussion: Reference to thread "First Taste of PPR it was Bitter"

i agree with Rod Sweet whole heartedly. The only way to eliminate the inconsistent PPR rule clarification for the umnpires is to use a screen. I have experience with using a screen first hand. I played in Naples, Florida last year for the winter and the screen was used for a 20 game league season. I play the outfield and was reluctant at first because of throwing home from left center, I thought it would not allow to throw home with accuracy because the ball would hit the screen. I had numerous opportunities during the season and it did not come into play. That being said, my overall experience with the screen was positive because there was never any issue with the PPR rule. If the SSUSA wants to eliminate the PPR conflict and continue to urge safety and protect the organization from liability use the screen for a period of time and evaluate the progress. I know the traditionalists will not like the remedy but it WILL eliminate the PPR issues.

Discussion: Host Hotel Surcharge

I too think this Host Hotel arrangement needs to be revisited. If a team can commute to a tourney and not need hotel rooms why in the world should they be punished by paying more money for an entry fee for living close to the tournament location. Personally, if SSUSA can work out a deal in which they get some type of compensation with the hotels in the area where the tourneys are held that is OK. That is just business. This is a delicate situation especially with the economy as it is today and probably for the rest of the year.
If my observation to this discussion is inaccurate in any way please let me know.

Discussion: Major + tournaments for 2009

My team just got moved to Major + and we are going to play at this level in Fort Myers this weekend. Moving forward in 2009, we plan to continue to play at this level and obviously would like to attend tournaments which have more than one or two Major + teams playing. What would be the best approach to communicate with other Major + teams as to which tournaments they are attending for 2009 so we can all enjoy playing against each other. Is it feasable to supply email address, phone numbers, Senior softball bulletin board, or another way to communicate to achieve this request. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
