SAME WEIGHT SAME MANUFACTURE SAME LENGTH FOR ALL TEAMS .... AT DALTON THAT WOULD BE 20 BATS NEEDED PLUS A COUPLE EXTRA INCASE OF BRAKAGE ... | Aug. 16, 2009 UMP IN NORTH GA. | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Playing down two or more divisions? Good question I was diging thru the SPA rule book on line no where did I find anything about playing down at all , but have herd of it in different age groups . It may be in there policies but nothing published for the public to read with out the powers at be to give out " case by case " . My question is and to my knowlegde there not planing this if MORRIS FARMS a great 60M team plays down in 55 AAA in a regular tourneys cause theres not enough teams entered in it. Can they at nationals play in 50 AA. There again " case by case " It would open up more teams to play down grow the tourneys and as some say " its all about the money for the areas the tourneys are in " And on a side note does anyone know where there is a SSUSA rule book on the web to read . I can find ISA and SPA but ISA says see SSUSA but cant find one on line. Thanks Jesse |

WELL A FEW THINGS HAVE TO BE SET IN STONE AND NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY ARE THATS MY OUT INCASE I'M WRONG .... 1. LEAGUE RULES ALWAYS OVER RULE THE RULE BOOK AND SINCE NOTHING IN RULE BOOK ON PLAYING AMOUNT THATS A NO BRAINER 2. YOU SAID THAT THERE WERE NO SCORE BOOKS FOR EITHER BENCH BUT WAS THERE ONE BY THE PARK ... IF SO THAT IS THE OFFICAL BOOK AND ITS EASY TO PROVE IF THE SUBS WERE REPORTED AS REQUIRED BY THE LEAGUE RULE 3. LET ME FIRST SAY I'M NOT A BAT DOCTOR AND I'M NOT AN EXPERT ON BAT DOCTORING BUT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CATCH A FEW NOT SO GOOD ATTEMPS AT IT ... AS A UMPIRE OF DIFFERENT ASSN. I HAVE TO TRY TO REMMEBER WHAT IS LEAGAL FOR EACH GROUP ... SHORT OF BRINGING A 20 PAGE LIST OF LEAGAL BATS TO THE FIELD ON A GIVEN NIGHT I TRY TO MEMORIZE THE ILLEGAL ONES LESS TO REMMEBER ... 1. DO I CHECK EVERY BAT EVERY NIGHT OR AT TOURNEYS AS I WALK THRU THE DUGOUT ... NO ... MOST HAVE THEM IN THERE BAT BAG AN I'M NOT DIGGING THRU THERE STUFF 2. I HAVE SEEN SOME SWINGING AN ILLEGAL BAT BEFORE A GAME AND TOLD THEM PUT IT AWAY ITS NOT LEGAL HERE 3. AT TOURNEYS AFTER BAT CHECKIN I WILL LOOK AT BATS LAID OUT AND TELL THE COACHES AT THE PREGAME TO SHOW ME THE WRIST BANS AND THE CERT. STICKER ON THE BAT AS THEY COME UP ... 4. IF THINGS ARE MOVING ALONG AND I DONT CHECK FOR SOME REASON DURING THAT AT BAT THEY HIT WITH IT AND IT'S FOUND ILLEGAL I FEEL THEY ARE SUBJECT TO THE RULES IN THE BOOK ... | Aug. 7, 2009 UMP IN NORTH GA. | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: PPR Clarification. hello yall .... had to chime in .... we had this rule in our senior leauge here and it made it all of 3 maybe 4 weeks .... the way we had it wrote was .... 1. sharp hit ball on the fly between the rubber. (hits ground bets off) 2. if the pitcher attemps to catch it then all bets are off. (just reaction to a ball comeing at him was called he was going for it) needless to say if anything came through the middle they were screaming to have it and out .... and part of it was they were using senior bats as well.... the senoir bats lasted a week on a 285 field .... It's a small leauge so we have 50s playing with 60s and 65s and then a few 70s so there is a wide range of skills as you can see .... regular rec league talent and then some tourney players just thought I would give some input to our use of it Jesse |

AREA No sir one of the first years that I wasn't reg. for ISA, not enough ISA tourneys at Bishop that have made or big enough by the time I get off work on Sat. You know buss. is buss. you got to make the numbers work. I'm on call if the local needs me. I got asked to go to World in Fla. about 4 years ago on monady and they were leaving on wed. no time to plan so I didn't go. I thought trying to start out an ealry year Rec tourney to help people loosen up. Hopefuly others will post. Jesse |

AREA The ISA state church / senior dir. asked me what kinda chance do we have getting a few tourneys put together next year, so I thought I would come to ya'll. If you could answer the questions below to give us an idea what your looking for. 1. How big a touney 3 game pool 2 game bracket , 2 game pool 2 game bracket 2. With that in mind how much would you want to spend to enter " keep in mind good Umps cost " that was my shameless plug. 3. Three day, two day, one day 2 bracket game tourney. 4. | July 27, 2009 UMP IN NORTH GA. | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: DALTON OK we had this come up at peach state classic so we called Mickey the acting UIC this is how we called it. 1. batter gets on 2. courtesy runner needs to take his/her place on base before next legal or illegal pitch or he/she has to move 1 base (does not matter if fly ball outs happen in between or not , still has to move one base) 3. courtesy runner that is injured or ill can be replaced but the runner being replaced is removed from the game. 4. batter can run for himself and 1 other 5. a person that was run for can not run for someone else that inning if he takes the bag , its an appeal play. 6. courtesy runner is on base at time of his bat he may be sub. for by someone not in the batting line up or has been in the game and subed out already (fresh player) hope this helps .... sorry it took to long Im at work and can you believe customers keep coming in ..... I would get one year at best .... with Mechanix I've had them 5 to 6 years now .... they are bigger so when you start using them they stretch the inside of the glove .... they were 15 or 20 bucks back then don't know what they run now ....
