OK BERNIE,one the 52 ball is NOT harder than the 44......ok here is how it goes, the higher the C.O.R. number(40,44,52),the bouncier it is,hence not as hard;two the lower the comp number the softer it is....so a 44 less bounce=harder ball, combined with a higher compression (375 psi) makes the 44 ball harder.........also any ball not hit square usually ends up a pop-up or ground ball...as ball hit square is a line drive,a ball hit just south of the middle of the ball goes in the air,any ball hit just north of middle heads for the ground.....

we have been using the ASA 52-300 ball with no prols for a couple of years....we do get to us any non-senior bat(ASA,USSSA,NSA,ISA,ETC) in our regular mens open leagues, balls are being hit out.....for our senior league they allow us to use our senior bats, and we have plenty of hrs hit by the the guys who can anyways.......

we hit every sunday as long as it was above 60 degrees(don't want bats to break,if possible),we do use the 52 ball to help the bats tho...we are starting to hit on sundays now regardless of temps as league will be starting back up soon.....i do a lot of tee work on my own, usually 100+ balls per session, also using the 16" balls for follow thru work.....i use a cage and open field,on the open field i go and throw the balls back that i hit....helps with the arm.....

Discussion: Combat 52 CAL Frank Henry

since i play in leagues(ASA) other than senior,i have to use different bats....last year used a combat avarice(asa) and spike baker(usssa),both 27fl......just got a combat pure (usssa) for xmass...our ASA leagues allow usssa bats as we use the 52/300 ball....

i use these for bp and no prols so far...the combat pure has only been hit off a tee,but feels real good.....also been using a wood bat in bp.........

jsheeran, and the problem is they want the AAA hrs over 3 to be walks, and not outs.....i'm all for the outs after 3,think it is great......

if your team constantly hits more than 3 move up or quit crying.......

hurt...i have no prol with pitching to anyone with no hrs to hit.....ya got up to 56' like garyh says......and do you think these same hitters won't hit middle even if there are hrs left...yeah right,i pitched last year quite a bit and had more hit at me then out of the park....so that thought is a big false one.....

well lets do this than....lets have only one div and hit all the hrs ya want,no crying or complaining, bring your team and see what ya got....this way there will be no sandbagging and we'll really see who can play.....

Discussion: Out after 3 Home Runs

why is it that they felt the need to hit middle, there is just as big of a hole between 5-6 and 3-4 holes....saying that you have to hit middle b/c hrs are gone is just complete crap....hell i play with the kids in a no hr league and there is no lighting up the middle....oh and i pitch....that team that hit 15 hrs is a prime example of sandbagging, unless you were playing in a mixed div tourney(aka M,M+ playing in an AAA bracket)......AAA does NOT need extra balls going out of the park without them being outs...and yes i also pitch in senior ball with no prols with it.....

so it is ok for a team to blast away in AAA and win it,rather then step up and take on a challenge in the M div.....that is what we call sandbagging big time....AAA is perfect with 3 hrs....as for hitting middle b/c hrs are gone, well learn to hit,not that hard, try instead of trying to make it a hr derby.....what do you do if there is no one on base, just hit it out for your ego...come on man.........

Discussion: More 1-1 Count Talk

i'm 62 soon to be 63,i'm in favor of the 1-1 count with no extra foul...it is all the kids play here and the parks and recs have been implementing it for the last 2 years(when ASA adopted it)...as i have said before,ASA and USSSA(for over 20 years) do it,why not us seniors..

so your saying, that you have no bat control,or don't know how to hit properly, but just swing as hard as you can.......as kennard said,AAA doesn't need anymore than 3 hrs a game, with all others being outs....if ya wanna hit more as a team you need to be playing in a higher div....

i play 1-1 no foul to give and love it....who are we making it hard on,not the batters they have it real easy now...its the defense,or the pitcher that have it hard for them, lets give them a break.....

Discussion: AAA HR rule question

taits if they are not using the 1-1 count in an ASA,USSSA,then they are modifying the rules.....parks/leagues can do what they want, but once you get to any qualifier in those asso's,it will be the 1-1 count....so i really don't care what the local yokels do,as they are making up their rules......

jdub agree about a batter who whine's b/c a pitcher looks deceiving to them, those batters are ones to me who can't hit and prolly should go play t-ball...

all ya ever hear on here is batter,batter,batter....who cares, let the pitcher have some fun,or just make the game "PITCH TO YOUR OWN TEAM" then you don't have anyone to blame but your team.......

Discussion: survey

been playing with the 1-1 count and no extra foul in our senior leagues here....oh and we only get 50 minutes total b/c of P&R time limits set forth(40 than open inning)and most always get 5-6 innings in,and 7 once in a while....so for 60 minutes and more(before the open inning)i think we would be able to have 7 innings most of the time......that 50 minute time limit goes for all the leagues at the park....the other park i play at gives 55 minutes,no senior league there.....

i'm in favor of not letting a CR run if not ready within 10 seconds of the batter/runner getting on base and time is called(this is what the batter gets to get in the box to hit) ...also once a pitch has been thrown, that runner must run for themselves till they score or put out on the bases....how about this, call a strike on the batter if the CR is not on the base to run.....
