Discussion: 1 and 1 pitch count

mmmm...how many still play young guy ball...if you do you will be playing 1-1 count as they all are doing that now and have been for a few years.....what is really wrong with a 1-1 count...oh i see...some superstars want the perfect pitch to drive....since it is already a hitters game why do they need even more of an advantage....let the pitcher in the game and have him/her become part of it instead of them just being a pitching machine for the batters......i don't care if it does or don't speed the game up...lets have a 1-1 count.....

Discussion: Las Vegas World ( batters box )

really guys..whinging about the size of the batters box, which has been the same since moses was playing softball......why don't we just give ya's a tee and let ya hit off that...hell you could set it up so you can blast away....it is already a hitters game..let the pitchers have some say in the game....

Discussion: Fairness in Ratings

would like to add to this....in 2001 we started as a 50 aa team(what ya did back then...topgun shuttermart)...we didn't win anything of importance till july that year and that was just a qualifier..6-8 teams if i remember right....well we jumped to AAA b/c a team(topgun 2) wrote a letter to sacramento and said we needed to be AAA and they should be AA(they were promoted that year) as we beat them once or twice in non-sanction tourneys.....we had put our money in for the westerns that year(first year of them)only to be told we now had to play as AAA....we had no other qual tourneys to use to add people.....at first we told sacramento to pack sand...then relented b/c we would of been done for the year....well we went to the westerns and lo and behold we won...all close games...the other team didn't bother going but went to vegas that year as AA and runruled everyone to win it all....we did finish 2nd to the team we beat in the westerns.....so we did prove we were good enough and by the 1st of nov we were rated major.....AA to major in less then a year.....

2nd bump was with a team here in texas...we were a AA team that won our state tourney (5 teams)..and were immediately jumped to AAA...we never finished in the top half of any major tourney after that.....the TD is the one who pushed us up...he had a prol with us i guess.....

the worth pitching mask is great.....also the rip-it face mask (metal ) is another good one to use...great vision with it.......i would stay away from any plastic mask.......

Discussion: You Make the Call - Crash at Second Base

fred on the veering off sets the runner up for being called for interference also.....the runner should go to the base directly and that is all his obligation is....he doesn't have to duck or slide..it is up to the fielder's to get the throw over to first.....

not sure where you saw this..but all situations you have posted should be called fair balls...if not your umpire is not educated in the rules of ball....and all calls will be for softball or baseball......doesn't matter......

I have heard and read the same thing..?.......demarini says it in one of his vids...he says to just swing your gamer in the on deck circle.......he says the weighted bat slows your fast twitch muscles that are used to swing your bat .....

Discussion: Runner Hit by Batted Ball

STLO....NO....no runner can intentionally interfere with a batted ball to prevent a fielder from making a play no matter if he is on the base.....so in your scenario the ump would call an out and maybe even a DP if they deem there could of been one....also there will be no runs scored on it as the 2 outs will be the 2 closest runners to home......

Discussion: masks

mario...that should never be the reason the pitcher needs to wear a mask.....getting tired of the "well we are out of hrs,so now we have to light up the pitcher,by going middle" crap.....do all hr hitters hit their hrs to center....don't think so.....hit it thru 3rd or 1st holes.....

Discussion: New DBO HR rules for 2014

why does a player have to hit middle when hrs are gone...this excuse is the biggest piece of crap thinking there can be...if your any good with the bat(hitting hrs at will)then you should be able to stay away from the pitcher....do you go after the pitcher when the 5th/7th run is on third...or do you try and punch one over the infield(trying to save a hr) to score the last run for the inning......i'm for all over the limit hrs to be outs..except in the M+ division...they deserve to hit them as they are supposedly the best of the seniors....like i have always said..if ya wanna hit hrs..then move your butt up and ya can hit them......for the life of me..i can't stand the talk that AA or AAA should be allowed to just hit them out be thankful ya get what ya get for limits(AA=1,AAA=3)is way more than is deserve for those 2 div's.......quit crying and move up if ya wanna hit them out....

Discussion: thinking of retireing from tourney ball

i've been thinking of all the crap(team bs,tourneys ran bad,td's having no clue, the cost of going just to play a couple of games, etc) that goes on playing tourney ball and have taken this year off from playing......i can't believe how much money i have saved also($2k +).....not sure if i want to come back and play 65's next year but will ask around with a couple teams that i know and see what is up for next year....just venting a little.......tell me is it really that great to spend all this money to play........
