Discussion: All the hate on DBO with senior bats...how about this?

perl the bats they use are what the assoc they are playing in..they no longer get juiced bats...go check an USSSA event...all bats are check (and most times are put in a barrel near their dugout)so they don't get to use anything over the limits set forth by the assoc.....

ace ,you have it right..the rip-it mask is all metal and has great vision...i have been using mine for the last 2 years, whether pitching or playing the infield.....

fred do you mean schutt fielding mask,as i found no schultz....the schutt looks just like the rip-it..you should really like it.....

Discussion: How about a discussion on ow we think dbos will effect our games? And our assumptions why.

it seems to me the DBO hr rule should be a mute subject....all of ya's are saying you hardly see the limits hit for hrs anyways...so way are you complaining about the hr rule.......

gary like what you have said but have the hrs like this

AA = 1 HR THEN DBO
AAA = 3 HR THEN DBO
M = 5 THEN DBO

i think this is what is now and to me that would work ......maybe drop the AAA to 2 and the M to 4 ......

and yes texast make the M+ play on a field by themseleves and let them chase every ball hit out...yeah right like that'll happen.....

Discussion: Time to eliminate senior bats

BO...corky had one with the ssusa truck he used to run....it was the ASA version...for asa a bat was no good if tested below 1500...most senior bats start near there and go lower(lower means hotter more flexing of the barrel)....actually most broken in bats tested around 1250-1300,as i watched him do many tests on bats....this was not for getting bats gone ,but more for the curiosity of the players....every now and again a bat would test in the 1100's...these were bats that were on their last legs, but hotter than crap...so the machine was there.......

Discussion: players please respond to rule changes

dbax..not even gonna respond to the dik........

steve yes if you do play in M+ you do have a big ego otherwise you wouldn't be playing up there..just saying.....you can play at that level very easily....its the ones who are just marginal + players and with their ego's that will cry the most....what is wrong with letting the pitcher having some leeway also..like a bigger mat..higher limits and etc.......why do the hitters need all the concessions made for them.....

yes i do realize that maybe there are not that many hrs hit..but in trying there will be more mistakes hit at pitchers as the marginal players will do nothing but swing from the heels..then maybe the pitcher gets "oh i'm sorry pitch" after drilling them......i do believe myself that the highest div should get at least 10 hrs per game just like all the top div's in all the other assoc's (young and old)....but do ya really need more then team USA or CANADA (border battle game)get when they play...oh and they use the 52 ball with ASA bats........

steve they don't have the problem as much..b/c the assoc's have now gone to the 52-275/300 ball....they have found they waste their money when getting them shaved..as most all the bats are within 15-20' of each other regardless of assoc type or altered with this ball...it is the reason this ball was brought out onto the market...the assoc's ask for a safer ball.....

mike it is not the assoc's doing it..its the mfg'er not sending the bat to a particular assoc for testing/inspection...the miken freak is/was an example for NSA.....you could use it all over but there.....remember as soon as you start hitting with your bats they start to exceed the 1.20/1.21 bpf...most of them.....the assoc's then started with the "never can exceed"...

leelee...your kidding right...you want these egomaniacs to give up something......they never will consider giving the pitcher a bigger mat, higher limits b/c that will inhibit their ego's....gots to hit the long ball......like someone said above also..run for yourself....i have heard it said that so and so can't run for themselves b/c they are a hr hitter and needs to be saved....really...and you think that is playing a complete game......

hey guys..you do know that all senior bats have to pass the bpf 1.20/1.21 test....the other assoc's are lower, except now ASA is allowing bpf 1.20 b/c they use the 52-300 ball....in fact there are ASA bats not allowed to be used in USSSA now.......

want to keep using the senior bats and keep the pitchers/inf'ers safer,we then need to use the 52-300 ball...get rid of these babe ruth ego's and play some real ball......

sparky..great idea..but the hr whiners are gonna tell you again, that on pitches that hi, they again will have to go middle to hit it..it seems every time something is suggested to help control the superbat/ball problem the solution is to take it out on the pitcher...really guys..why........why don't we just get you tees so ya just tee it up to your liking.....

BO...i totally agree with you...these senior bat are addictions to the senior who n never hit them when younger,or even now when they play mens/coed leagues/tourney's where they aren't allowed....

hemi...you really think someone 5' 100 something would hit them out with ASA/USSSA bats..prolly not,but hey let them use super bats and they will...sound more like ego boosting to me instead of real play.....

i went from a 10% for hitting hrs with regular bats to close to 50%(or the chance to) with super bats..even now at 63 going on 64 i still can hit them with senior bats ....my regular bat % has gone down, but it should with my age going up..and guess what,i'm ok with that as that is the way it should be...

Discussion: Question for Mad Dog and others

i have used my sunglasses underneath the rip-it mask with no problem.....mine came with a visor that Velcro's to the top,i didn't care for that as i don't wear a hat when playing.......a few weeks back when we had a cold spell here i even used my stocking/beanie cap underneath it....to me the rip-it has the best vision among the masks...i have used the gameface and the combat faceoff, and both of those cut off some of your down vision at your feet, unless you make a real effort to look down...i also have the worth pitching helmet, which is nice and light but does have a vision prol down low(at your feet)if you happen to not look down completely.....

for me its a metal mask or nothing,as i don't trust the plastic ones......

mmm....do you seniors feel you are better than TEAM USA,resmondo,etc..as they play with hr limits....and guess what..they don't light up the pitcher....oh most of them do use a mask to play the pitcher spot.......

ob..i like your idea with one exception....if the runner is not there and waiting, there can be no CR for that runner....he has to go all the way around.......make the CR the base coach and he'll be there instead of having to come out of the dugout......

why should this put the pitchers in harms way anymore, then if there were hrs left...to me it sounds like your gonna go head hunting b/c your not allowed to show how big your bat is....that is really sad......
