| Dec. 10, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: AAA Home Run Outs ok,guys hr limits have been in place since the mid 80's,so where are/were these unlimited hrs being hit....also how do you defense a ball hit over the fence..oh you can't,that is the difference BC7..... AAA = 3 hrs is great, with outs for extra's....i consider myself a marginal power hitter, and haven't hit a dead ball out in many years,i also haven't lit up any pitchers b/c of running out of hrs, maybe a 3rd baseman,as i try to pull it(as long as the pitch allows).... so as i see it ssusa has got this right, now we just need the 1-1 count to come to us....ASA,USSSA both have it in kids ball, why not us........ |
| Dec. 4, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Grading the Rule Changes stick ASA doesn't allow it either.....now for the 70' bases, most all the assoc have them now,ASA will be having them next year(2013)....i see no prol with having them....as for the 1-1 count start, hey guys it has been around since the 80's(USSSA)......I like it,see no prol with it..... AAA hrs should be no more than 3 and an out for the rest...... |
| Dec. 2, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Safe Senior Softball they tried, but the judge threw it out of court............. lack of evidence......... |
| Dec. 2, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Altamonte Springs, Florida, 2013 Winter Softball Camp 1 of 11,yes a very good camp,i've been going since 2006...curt runs a very good camp....it is the 15-17 feb this year coming....temps usually run into the mid-hi 70's and 80's sometimes....... |
| Dec. 2, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Safe Senior Softball 200' way to short....when i started we played on 240-275' fields with wood and we hit plenty hrs....every now and again in our mens open league i'll pull out the wood...... |
| Dec. 2, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Grading the Rule Changes ff,and where do i say that.....just so sick and tired of hearing the AA and AAA teams cry b/c they don't get to hit hrs.....if ya wanna hit them, play up...... |
| Dec. 1, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Grading the Rule Changes A = for the hr rule changes....AAA don't need to be putting balls out of the park, like with the old rule....saw to many AAA teams get more than the allotted 3,with all others being walks this year....now with the outs, maybe they can play up,or learn to hit rather than slug away.....and please don't tell me ya HAVE to hit middle when hrs are gone, that is a crock of crap......just means your not a hitter, and are a swing as hard as you can type..... do like the 1-1 count, but can go either way...all my leagues here use the 1-1 count,so no prol for me..... webbie agree with making the mat 21" - 36"...... |
| Nov. 27, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: bat dense,us....hey your the one trying to gouge us....this bat never sold for over $200 when new...you then come on here trying to get 2-3 times more of what it is really worth....get real, quit trying to punk everyone..... |
| Nov. 26, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Replacement Surgery mike if ya can get a hold of him, bruce walker had his done a couple of years back....... |
| Nov. 26, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: bat clean up why not,his bat is magical, hence the magical price...that would equal numerous championships.... |
| Nov. 26, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Maybe try this before adding a pitcher screen???? what about the lo pitch son......i think a 3'-15'arc allowed would be great.....i'm not a fan of screens either, since we have a ball that would greatly reduce injury factors.... |
| Nov. 26, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Performance enhancing i take recovery supplements(NOS BLAST,WHEY PROTEIN and a couple others)which help in being able to move the 2nd and 3rd days of tourneys....also use cytomax when playing thru the day.....these can all be had at gnc, vitamin world,etc.....i get mine on ebay as it is cheaper there most of the time... |
| Nov. 26, 2012 mad dog | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Maybe try this before adding a pitcher screen???? every thing sounds good, but here would be my mods to the mat,21" wide,36" long.the mat is 34 x 19 now......also get rid of height restrictions,if the pitcher can hit the mat, make it a strike...... |
| Nov. 20, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: bat wagon i'm with you...$375 for an unwarranted bat plus pay for shipping,really.......i can get 2 niw senior bats for that....looks like ebay is working its way to the senior board..... |
| Nov. 18, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: pitching screens first i want to kwon where in any softball assoc are you allowed to pitch from 60',none that i know of..... enhanced performance bats have been out since the mid 80's,so they have been around for a while, just went from metal to titanium/doublewall to plastic....yes back then there was bat altering, most would endload them.... curveball i wanted a demo back in the day(mid-late 80's)in the worse way,and they were only approx $100 and custom made for your swing, then he got real serious.......my first doublewall bat was the block letter 95 model,$300 from direct sports...... |
| Nov. 7, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: cheater bats stick i understand that each time they get tested in conf play...our local utrip tourney's don't,but the do the inspect before each game.ump does a quick check and in the barrel they go,our only diff,is that after the game we get them back...and have to do again before our next game..last dec i actually went to the TD to have him comp test my old syn-2,hey it passed, not by much, but it did... titan, yes that is true, also most senior bats will pass comp tests when new,but 50 swings later might be another story....LOL.... titan, you don't remember the uproar on here about going to a lesser ball......personally it would be the easiest way to go.we use the 52 ball(ASA ver) for our leagues,we have no prol hitting it out, more of the lesser hitters have been getting some shots,we all like it....done with my 52 rant,sorry... |
| Nov. 7, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: cheater bats STICK and even that is not fool proof.i have played in some utrip tourney's that bats are inspected and put in the barrel, but only tested when there was a prol...i have no prol with that,at least they are trying..... just feel the mfg'er and their bat reps should also be helping when they find cheater bats......tell the assoc's who is doing it..... |
| Nov. 5, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: cheater bats moral of the story.....really....guess its ok for the cheaters to use shaved/painted bats, that real morale of the story right there.....guess you cheaters don't care if anyone gets hurt..... |
| Nov. 4, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: cheater bats stick, and that is the problem, everyone turning their heads and not helping to alleviate this problem....should not be hard for any of them to do,WE have to really crack down on this.... Easton tried that with one of their models(reveal i think) a couple of years back, didn't help....i feel if the cheaters want to,they'll find a way around it(which will happen).... bat companies don't care what the assoc standards are, that just means they get to sell more new bats.... |
| Nov. 4, 2012 mad dog | Topic: Bats Discussion: what kinds of bats? if ya know dan that they are playing dirty, walk them and tell them why in a very loud voice,so every person there can hear it.... |
