I also sometimes enjoy Dave's comments but not sure his Duh comment fits into that category Ed.
St. George was my first tournament with DP so I missed Bullhead City, but being from Vegas I know some people who have pulled some monster fish out of the river. Keep casting.

I agree Ed. Well run tournament, fields in St. George are as good as any i have ever played on. Teams that skip this event don't know what they are missing. Great way to start the season.

I actually have a 2003 27 oz warranty replacement model, W melted into end cap, still in the wrapper. I think it may be worth a couple bucks.

Discussion: Ulta2 with ASA stamp???

ASA stamp Ultra is the best bat ever made in my opinion. Im lucky that i have a few.
I heard they no longer had the mold of something of the sort but i believe that they aren't interested in selling a bat that performs and lasts. They can make more money selling us two or three new bats a year.

Discussion: Neck Surgery

I had that surgery about 10 years ago. I remember it being about two months or so. I know the first month i spent in a collar 24/7 and then another month or so before the i started taking BP and throwing. The collar was the worst part as you cant drive.

Discussion: HR rule - why????

I would say let them be walks in Major Plus and DBO in all other divisions. Make the plus division more attarctie and the other divisions less attractive to guys that just want to hit bombs.

You also have to wonder about team members who would sit by and watch this type of behavior if in fact it happens.

Discussion: sick players at Sunset Park

I don't think Sunset Park has anything to do with providing the water coolers. I think that is LVSSA. The scarey part is hearing that guys soak their swaety towols and stick their feet in a water cooler they know other people are going to drink water from. WTH! That's just crazy.

Discussion: Las Vegas Fields and Umpires

As far as umpires knowing the rules most the umpires don't officiate Senior ball very often it appears. It surprises me that umpires are not handed a rule sheet at the start of every day to reference should they need it. I know when I'm officiating a tournamemt in which standard rules for the organization I officiate aren't being used, our director provides us with a rules sheet. Comes in handy. Unfortunatley it doesn't help poor judgement, lack of hustle and bad mechanics.

Discussion: Desert Breeze Park

Ball bounces pretty high if its coming down at a steep angle but not too bad. I like playing the outfield there.
BP will be a mess but on Friday or early on the weekends the soccer fields are the best bet.

Discussion: Doc Romeo and Shadow Rock

Doc Romeo has a couple little league fields on one end, then i believe 4 softball fields located more towards the middle and the a baseball field at the far end.

Played at Desert Breeze last night. The base paths are dirt but the rest of the infield and outfield is turf. Good shape and will be a good place to play.
