Aug. 22, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: another senior ailment : TOE NAIL FUNGUS ! ran across this article on a website: if it works, could be a cheap remedy : Use Cornmeal to Keep Off Toenail Fungus Toenail fungus or Onychomycosis can be bit difficult thing to treat. It is usually seen in discoloration, flakiness and thickening of the nail. This fungus is nasty, discomforting and most of all stubborn, often opposing various sorts of cure and lasting for many years. While this condition generally propagates in the big toenail. A toenail fungus infection ends when fungi, which is scientifically known as dermatophytes gets placed into the nail through a small aperture. The fungus grows itself rapidly in a warm, humid and moist environment, like damp socks or shoes. The reason is that toenails don’t have a good supply of blood as well as oxygen. It is not easy for the immune system on its own to free the body of the infection. As the symptoms, white or yellow spot beneath the tip of the toenail is frequently the first signal of toenail fungus. The toenail becomes thicken and discolored with yellow, white and brown patches. However, there are lots of home remedies and suggestions for the treatment of toenail fungus. In which, you can make use cornmeal for toenail fungus. Covering your feet in cornmeal cures the fungal infection or you can use cornmeal by soaking your feet. People with toenail fungus also spread on mixture of cornmeal and water all over the infected toes and nails. Cornmeal is a natural home remedy; microorganisms in cornmeal kill off the fungus by eating them all. In order to use try this remedy for toenail fungus, put cornmeal in the pan and add just enough lukewarm water to cover it. Soak your feet for about 30 minutes for one hour once per week. think i will give it a shot. |
Aug. 21, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: another senior ailment : TOE NAIL FUNGUS ! I wonder how many guys had/have this problem. how did you clear it up, and did it go away completely or did it come back ? i had both toe nails removed a few years ago and shortly there after, the problem came back. another time i took pills and eventually cleared up the problem, but again a few month later, it came back. weird, but it only affects the toes. i have tried : tea tree oil, white vinegar, off the shelf stuff, but alas, no help. i havent tried it yet, but i read someplace that soaking your feet with horicultural corn meal and water once a week might do the trick. any comments ??? thanks ! |
Aug. 14, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis swing- finally made an appt, will see a podiatrist next week. i do wall stretches but maybe not often enough during the day. will pick up the pace , thanks ! |
Aug. 13, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis CRUSHER- i am still hobbling around with this irritating problem. i am still playing nite league and dayball, but am not running at full speed. i have put in some arch supports and trying to layoff as much as necessary. i will be ready for dalton, and i will be in my regular position. ( IBUPROFEN 800MG ) TOO BAD OUR TEAM IS NOT GOING TO LAS VEGAS. i will try to latch on with a 70's team if possible or maybe a 65 team. as far as dalton, the flight out of dfw to atlanta is about 167.00 R/T. i cant see driving 11-12 hrs each way. will see you out there ! |
Aug. 13, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis VALGUS 6- Your comment below: " The single most aggravating factor in developing plantar fasciitis is tightness of the calf muscles," . i did not correlate the possibility that my planters problem could be a factor in my calf/ shin area being swollen. thinking back now , the planter problem and swelling came approx the same time. this was about 6-8 weeks ago. i will make an appt to go see a podiatrist, my REGULAR DOCTOR did not seem too concerned about the swelling on my leg. i had a varicose operation done about 35 yrs ago, and my doctor blamed that operation as to a possibility of the leg swelling due to lack of circulation. thanks for your expert input. |
Aug. 12, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis YOU GUYS are great ! thanks for all your input, i will try the recommendations mentioned on here. since i retired 7 years ago , i have switched to nothing but sandals day in and day out, unless i am playing ball. maybe this has been the cause of the problem. hopefully this post will help some other players avoid the problem in the future. thanks again! frank a HARRIS AUCTION 70'S . |
Aug. 11, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis TITANHD- if you are referring to shoes, it's no. i was wearing the cleats that have the 9-11 spikes in the bottom when this pain started. i have switched to shoes that have the small dibs , hope this switch helps. i ordered some spenco polysorb walker/runner inserts this am , hope they do the job and relief the pain. have an appt to see the doctor and get his opinion. i appreciate your responses ! thanks to all. |

June 3, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: Bats Discussion: BLACK MIKEN ULTRA 2 PROBLEMS FIXED ? WAYNE 37- i read someplace that the composite bats get stiffer as time goes by. not sure if this means they get brittle or harder to break. nobody knows the answer because they normally dont last that long with a normal hitter. see ya tonite, i will give you an extra 25 ft in right field now that you warned us about your new miken. |

May 31, 2013 armiho211 | Topic: Bats Discussion: BLACK MIKEN ULTRA 2 PROBLEMS FIXED ? MIKEN had a batch(s) of the regular ULTRA 2'S a few months ago that " had no pop " at all. as far as you know has this particular problem been corrected ? i bought one that was a dud, sent it to miken and got it back as being okay. i finally got rid of it. i switch to a reebok melee balanced and this one is getting hotter and hotter as time goes by, BUT as far as i am concerned , it does not compare to a regular ultra 2 . so , is the miken ultra 2 back to normal as far as manufacturing ? no more batch problems ?? |
