Discussion: amazed at all the posts

guys,

i just spent my 1st year in senior softball (league & tournaments). i had a blast. but i'm amazed at all the bickering that seems to take place on this message board about a variety of subjects. personally, i am not taking sides with anyone, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and should be respected for that, right, wrong or indifferent.
on the other hand, it sure is disappointing to someone like myself just starting out in senior softball to read about all this stuff. i sometimes wonder when reading some of the posts on here if i should even continue with senior softball. but my love for the game will keep me on the field, until the day i die, who knows i might even play after that.

i'd like everyone to heed the words of a famous american athlete, one i'm sure you all know who said: (the context of his statement was changed for this message board).

it's only softball man, we're just talking about softball ....

hope everyone enjoys the 2009 season !!!!

i play lc for amr 50 majors .... i know their has been a lot of talk about safety issues on this site. i'd like to bring one up that i haven't seen yet, and i'm sure all who played lc @ veterans park @ the winter nationals in ft myers can attest to this as well. i'm not sure which field# but as you walk up it's the 1st field on the right, we played a game there on saturday and i was stunned that in lc there was a tree with a thick branch sticking right over the fence into the playing field. anyone who was going hard after a fly ball in that area surely took a chance of being impaled by that branch. seriously guys, how hard, and how much trouble could it be to get out a chainsaw and cut that branch down. i can't tell you how many times i turned around during the game and looked @ that branch, not believing it was there. this could have caused a very serious injury to anyone lf or lc that ventured into that area to run down a fly ball. by the way on field #3, how much common sense does it take to not play a game @ 8am on that field. the sun is directly in the eyes of both teams when they are hitting. i can say i don't ever remember seeing so many people strike out swinging, and during their ab just swinging and missing. by 9am the sun was not an issue, why was the game not started @ 9am. is it possible the bcs had a hand in this. it's amazing that common sense seems to not be a factor in anything anymore.

i'm afraid that reality as we know it, is someone else's dream .... and when that dreamer awakes we'll no longer exist ....
