PHOENIX WORLD'S "JOIFUL" TOURNAMENT Japan vs U.S./Canada Oct 16 - 17, 2008 Thursday + Friday SSUSA/SSWC is seeking 30 Women Senior Softball Players ages 50 and up from across the USA + Canada to participate in this year's International tournament. Regardless of your team's participaton in the tournament ALL players are welcome to express their interest in becoming a member of these teams. All selected participants will also be invited to a social honoring the Japanese teams. Team members will be announced by September 15, 2008. The rules are also in accordance with the Women's Summit Rules (SSWAC) and may vary slightly from each organization. My suggestion is to contact your Division Director, which is posted on this site, and she will gladly send you a copy of the rules. | Aug. 4, 2007 Connie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: THANKS to my "SENIOR SOFTBALL FAMILY" I just wanted to say "THANKS" to everyone that send flowers, cards, and called me during my recent hospital stay! Having back surgery for the 4th time in two years has been scary...........without the support of my friends and family I don't think it would have been as smooth as it's been. Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine I now have a "Dynesys Stabilization System" in my lower back. This is the latest in back surgeries ! The doctor has assured me that I will, once again, return to the softball diamond. All the medicine in the world does not replace the support and ccomradeship that comes with from our "Senior Softball Family" THANKS! Connie Stewart |
| July 11, 2007 Connie | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: foul tip rule Please refer to page 30, 6.28 FOUL TIP in your 2007 Senior Softball Championship Senior Softball - USA Rulebook... it states "A batted ball which goes directly from the bat, not higher then the batter's head, to the catcher's hand(s) or glove and is legally caught by the catcher. NOTE: Any batted ball that goes directly from the bat, not higher then the batter's head to any part of the catcher's body or equipment other then the hand(s) or glove is a foul ball and dead." |

| April 4, 2007 Connie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Mesquite "April Fools" Day THANKS To my “Softball Family” Jeff and I want to personally “Thank You” for sharing our special day on Sunday. Our decision to get married at home plate sounded strange to begin with, but what a WONDERFUL experience it turned out to be. Surrounded by all our softball family was extremely meaniful to both us………softball is our passion! The “Arch of Bats” was so original and so cool!! THANKS SO MUCH! I especially want to Thank our minister, Dennis…..what a great, light ceremony it was! Shelly from “No Limits the maid of honor; Kerrie from Aches/Pains/Renegades my 6’1” ring bearer; and Sammy our best man! I also want to Thank “Daddy” Frank Pati for giving me a way! No day, or experience, could have been happier and more deeply felt by both Jeff and I by having each and every one of you there. Thanks for everything! A special Congratulations also goes out to the following teams for winning in their age divisions: 50 Women’s Division CA SPIRITS 55 Women’s Division ACHES + PAINS / RENEGADES 60 Women’s Division AZ SUNSETS The tournament was great and fun was had by everyone!
