This is the perfect example for my choice of not responding to the nitwits that hound this board.
I've posted in the past, hoping to add to some of the threads, and share information, to only have the threads dominated by a few dopes.
I would suggest that if the forum police can't block these guys, that another forum be used, or communicate directly, by email, with the people that you want to share info.
See you in another few years.......

I'm not sure I understand what travel distance has to do with ranking?
In FHC teams are reseeded after each of the monthly bracket tournaments.
In the 50s division we have a team that started the year, (Jan.), ranked #15, they are now #4.
Another team started at 54, they are now 28. Another team started at 60, they are now 39.
Its performance driven and most of the objectivity is avoided.

Florida Half Century is now using a points system to rank the 160 50+ teams in the state.
Seems to be working well.

Bravo....FINALLY.....two of the most irritating posters I've ever seen.
They not only attack each other, but anyone who disagrees.
Hi-jack almost every thread with their individual drivel.
Thankfully I don't know either of them, and have no inclination to pursue that option.

Hey Dirty...you don't know me? Why don't you just surf the forums and mind your business. I've watched you comment and downgrade everyone else's comments for a year. You, and people like you are the reason I don't bother with most of these public forums. Its not a discussion with people like you, its a confrontation. For you to denigrate and bully people you know nothing about, and have never met is, to be quite honest with you, not very bright.
Don't expect to see anymore responses from me on this platform as I will not take myself down to your level........

When I started playing senior ball in Florida i didn't hit the middle because of the age of players. As a pitcher I spent the first two months bobbing and weaving as balls flew by and at me. So, of course, I went back to my natural swing which is between the 2nd baseman and shortstop. It may , at times, be very near the pitcher. Doesn't mean I'm trying to "hit" him.
I've seen players and teams deliberatly try to hit pitchers in both league and tournament ball. Actually happens all the time, even in senior ball.

Discussion: poll:who would like

Personally I prefer no PPR and I do like the present bat/ball combo.
I think the HR limit should be increased for all divisions. I like the safety base at first and can't make up my mind about the extra plate.
I do not like the use of the mat and plate as strikes as I feel its slow pitch, already a hitters game, you just take more away from the pitcher.
And, I can't stand the five run inning rule and the courtesy runner rule.
I played no SSUSA this year because of some of the rules and with this "sign a waiver" crap, probably won't in 2010.
Fortunately, I live where there is plenty of senior ball to be played, Florida, without playing SSUSA.
The fees are too high, one umpire for that money? And they don't seem to be going out of their way for their meal ticket....us...the players.
I'm sorry I went a little long....but, you asked.....

Discussion: Rankings question

Are the team rankings in USSSA decided by the use of some kind of formula, numerical or otherwise?
Or are they opinion based by a board of review?
If by formula, what might that formula be?
If by a board of review, who or what does this board consist of?

Dirty...if you played tournaments in the 70's and 80's I'm assuming (may be my mistake) that you weren't playing 50 and over ball.
It seems to me that if that is the case you have only opinion and not experience to draw your continual criticism from.
You know what they say about opinions?

Discussion: Car Insurance

Hey James.....by AARP I'm assuming that is "The Hartford".....
I have a '86 Vett that was bone stock, all original, 45,000 miles, showroom condition. A guy ran a red light, in a rental car not rented by him, and was cited at the scene. Hit me on the very front tip of the front left bumper by the side indicator light. Did about $4000 worth of damage. I paid for the "waiver of deductible" on my policy (usually always do). This occurred in April of 2004 and is still not settled. They owe me the deductible and car rental $ and have not settled this in over 5 years? Every time I call its the same crap, "the claim is still in subrogation"....I would not recommend any kind of insurance threw AARP as I believe they are getting more and more in bed with the ins. companies.
