Is that what you are doing with Hamels in 65s......I would think they pose a danger to the other 65 s in Loudoun.

What about the bat with the holes in it to allow it to move through the air quicker???That bat ruined a lot of balls by cutting them up....

Discussion: Update on Webbie's new knee?

Webbie....Just a little advice..if you have a pool that you can use! it is a great device to help you in your rehab.I had both knees done six years ago and was frustrated trying to get back to softball. My PT guy told me to simulate as much softball related motion as I could in the pool. it made a huge difference for me. I still do some exercise in the pool at least three days a week.
Just my two cents on the matter.

Discussion: where are all the pitchers

I have been hit off of a deflection from the rubber...Broke my nose....I am always trying to fill in the hole in front of the rubber. In addition...I have been hit maybe six times over the years with worst being a broken leg in BP....I have never gotten angry at the batter just myself.... I saw something in canada at a tournament that I Thought would put pitching into the defensive mix of the game of softball. They drew a ten foot circle starting at the rubber and the pitcher could stand anywhere in the circle and pitch. it gave the pitcher some options.

I have been pitching since the 1980s and I have seen some serious injuries to pitchers. I feel that I am pretty good defensively up the middle but I am in my 60s now. I will get use to the mask wether I like it or not because the position is dangerous. I play in the major plus division and I can tell you that some of those balls are going through the middle faster than 100 mph. I am also confidant that the great majority of players have no interest in hurting anyone and I have never thought that anyone was trying to hit me. There I have said enough.....One last thing...I would never expect someone to not hit the middle if he thinks he can get a hit.

Discussion: Playing after knee replacement?

Webbie...I have had both knees replaced and play at a competitive level for superior Softball . Rehab is very important and I also worked in the pool doing softball motion drills.....Ray Ray also has had both knees replaced and he is running faster than he did when he was younger...We are both pitchers.

Wow...That's weird....I played for superior 60s and I came down sick the following Tuesday and was in bed until Saturday...At first I thought I had food poisoning but then heard that at least five of my teammates got sick as well....

Patty-Mac and Webbie....I have to admit...I like to hit a good ball and I am a pitcher that will more than likely have to pitch to both of you guys in Vegas. You got to love the competition!!

Discussion: Senior softball summit

This may be crazy, but I like to play softball and these organizations provide a medium for me to do that. It provides some competition that I enjoy and the relationships with fellow players that I relish. Some tournaments are given lofty names but I don't care. What difference does it make........I think some people spend way too much time thinking of ways to complicate life.....loosen up!!!!

Discussion: Is winning the most important thing?

As the Bird-man will attest to....I love the competition!!! You strive to win but you deal with the frustration of losing if that is your lot....As far as the equipment is concerned ...you use what is legal at the time....End of discussion......
