Discussion: out of area exemption rule

Its too bad that these guys who are in charge don't care about the players. I play on a 50 Major Plus team. The quality of play is tremendous. In my opinion there are only 8-10 legitamate major plus teams at the 50 age level. Why is it so hard for us to have our own set of rules. It is what we want and we are the ones playing. I think they should keep the bordering states rule and let California and Florida fall under the same guidelines as the rest of the country and allow 2 exemptions to go along with the bordering state rule. Use 47/525 balls, no 5 run innings, and use any bat you feel like (no titanium) and let the best team win. It is no fun for us to play against some major or even AAA teams in bracket play. It does no good for us or the team we are playing. So why can't NSA, SPA etc just let the players at the major plus level play the game the way we would like.

I would also like to congratulate Damon's on their victory last weekend. You guys really earned that title! To win that many games out of the losers bracket and take the title was a tremendous effort. Nice job.

Discussion: Panama City Tourney

THERMCO did win the 50+ division in Panam City. THERMCO won the winners bracket final then Kelly's elimated Florida Crush in the losers bracket final. Kelly's beat THERMCO to force the "if" game, which THERMCO won. I couldn't agree more about hitting a good softball for a change. Also playing a full game with no 5 run innings and no time limits!. Too bad other organizations (SPA/NSA) couldn't take a look at the USSA rules and follow suit. From the talk I heard, most players like this format a 100% better and we are the ones playing.

Discussion: move up to 7 runs

I could not agree with you more!. Especially in the preliminary rounds where you play 2 or 3 games to basically to get seeded for the double elimination rounds the next day. A lot of teams use 12, 13 or more batters in the line-up to get everyone playing time to get ready for the next day. With only 5 runs per inning the guys at the end of the order are lucky to get 2 at bats. Just make the game time limit 1hour and 15 min instead of an hour and there should be no problem getting the games in.

Discussion: ID Cards

This is my first year playing with the seniors. I just would like to hear other opinions from others out there about all these ID cards. I was just informed by our manager that I needed to fill out and register for yet another ID card. This means that I need to go and pay another $10 for a passport photo and send in another $20 for a registration fee, I already have 2 other ID card from other associations which cost another $75 or so. Whyt is it that we can fly all over the country and all that is needed is a valid drivers license with a photo ID proving your age and residence. If that is good enough for national security why is it not good enough for playing softball?

Discussion: synergy plus is it legal all associations

I am not sure if the Synergy + is legal in all associations but in my opinion, it does not have the pop that the Freak has.
