Thank you, Ed. I am playing on another Scrap Iron team. I just wanted to help out the players left. There is a very good core of players that would help many teams if they need players. They are rated AAA, but some can play Major because of their ability.
Hope all is well with you and Robyn.

We are still in need of 4 players for Scrap Iron 65 AAA team. You must live in a state that touches Colorado, and turn 65 in the calendar year 2016. You can also me ranked Major as you can have 3 players at that rank on an AAA level team.
We are in need of a pitcher, an infielder and a two outfielders. If you can player either of those positions, that is a plus as well.
Scrap Iron is a top world softball organization. We had 15 teams last year and at least that many this year. Scrap Iron pays all tournament entry fees as well as uniforms and safety team equipment. If you are interested, contact DuWayne Pillard 303-437-5340 or email him at duwaynepillad@gmail.com Thank you.

Discussion: What is your favorite complex you've ever played at?

Aurora Sports Complex for tournaments. The infields and outfields are in fabulous shape. The other plus is that there is no traveling to other ball parks to see you friends play because there are 12 fields all within close walking distance of one another.
Golden Eagle in Sparks is awesome, beautiful views and a great sports restaurant.
I also like the Canyons Complex in St. George. Nice view of everything.
Big League Dreams in Vegas is nice too.
There are many more, but these three come to mind first.

Thank you SSUSA staff and DieselDan for the info. Our team enjoys Mesquite a lot and the Spring Worlds. St. George is a great city, but the hotel rates in Mesquite are quite a bit less, plus they have a good night life after the games are over.

Does anyone know why they are only listing St. George for the Spring Worlds? Is St. George going to be the only venue where the games will be played? Can you clarify that SSUSA staff?
I will miss going to Mesquite, however, it is close enough that a players could still stay there and drive over to St.George.

Tom, the team will have to discuss whether they will want to go to that tournament. It would be great to see a new change of venue. I have never personally played in Arkansas, but would enjoy going there.

I believe Tom that the schedule will be Mesquite in March, S.W. Nationals in Vegas, then Reno, maybe Kansas City in July, Aurora, Co. in August(you could stay at my house, wouldn't cost you for board or room)then Vegas Worlds, and finally, Phoenix. That is a an idea of the tournaments, but of course the coaches would have to decide on which tournaments.

Pardon me, but the age group is 65 in the above post. You must turn 65 in the calendar year 2016.

Scrap Iron AAA team looking for tournament players, 3rd base, shortstop, and outfielders. We lost players going to the 70 age level, and now need to replace these players. This team has a very good group of core players. We would like to keep the roster at no more than 13, so everyone gets plenty of playing time. Your state must touch Colorado to be able to play on this team. You should be rated a AAA level or Major. We can have 3 Major players on a AAA team. We usually go to about 6 tournaments per year, mainly in the Western U.S. Scrap Iron pays for tournament entry fees and three uniforms, tops, hats, you provide the pants or shorts. A good attitude is a must. NO HEAD CASES!! If you are interested, please call DuWayne Pillard @ 303-437-5340, or Carl Bennett,719-645-3046.

Ed, I am so very sorry for this tragic accident. My prayers go out to you, Robyn, and the Montez family. My brother just passed away unexpectedly in AZ at age 56, so prayers for my family as well. Hopefully will see you in Vegas, at the end of Sept., if not, I will be remembering all of you in my prayers.

Hi Steve. Thanks for answering! You are young enough to be my son!! Lol!!
Hey, you shouldn't have any trouble being picked up. If you know of any 65+ players that aren't on a travel team, and tournament quality players, can you have them give me a call? We are a AAA Scrap Iron team. Thanks, Steve, and good luck in the tournament.
