Discussion: Question for TD's

Scott,
The 4 legged kids are doing well, spent the weekend at the park making friends with everyone. Slept all the following week! I usually enjoy running the Lodi tournaments, but this time it was particularly not enjoyable as some of our volunteers never showed up so I had to run around all morning getting stuff covered. Only one review, tournament was boring. Everyone say to go to ASA bats and balls, but if I did, nobody would come to our tournaments. How are your fur babies?

Discussion: Question for TD's

I'm the TD from Lodi. My schedules were up two weeks ahead of time and I used the tool that Bob made to create and post my schedules. I do believe that any NCSSA can use it if they want. I know of only one that had problems and it was because his email address changed.

Bob Strand of NCSSA passed this weekend. Bob did so much for NCSSA and the tournament directors. He will truely be missed.

Taits,
The Lodi Tournament went well. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and the brackets were good. We did a bat raffle and collected enough to raffle two bats of each winners's choice, plus did a 50/50 raffle. We have 4 winery sponsors that pay most of the awards, so we still make a good profit for our organization.

I'm anxious to see what our competition will be. This is my first year with the Saints and we've been competitive in all of our tournaments so far. I think the only reason we got moved to AAA is that there are 4-5 new quality players.

Just curious how each of you would define teams at Major +, Major, AAA and AA

Discussion: FOLSOM AREA Weather conditions

No problem Scott, we are scheduled for Yuba City and then Lodi for April. Hopefully we will be able to play those. We have been able to get 3 games (a week and a half) played in the Lodi Senior league, but are rained out tonight. They have been doing a great job getting the field ready, just too much water

Johnny,
Go to this website and under rosters find Flatliners. They are a good team out of that area and could probably help you out.

taits, I read this almost every day here and there. I concur with you and hitt2. The problem with this and other boards are with those that thrive on cramming their ideals down everyone elses throat, instead of having an intelligent discussion and agreeing to disagree instead of allowing it to escalate as JT9 stated, into a pissing contest.

Discussion: Balls in Manteca tourney this weekend

We played at Morenzone and the outfield in spots was dangerous. Leaking sprinkler head left a large swamp-like area. No field maintenance at all. Games were nearly 1.5 hours behind on Sunday

Discussion: Prescription Eye Glasses Versus No Glasses

Have your eye doctor set you up with some single vision lenses. I wear progressive normally, but as defense3B said they are not easy to play in. The single vision lenses may not let you read the scorebook, but you don't have issues seeing the ball as it passes through the different powers of the lens. I also recommend the transition lens as you can use the same glasses to play day or night.

Discussion: Pitching Masks discussion

I purchased prior to this season. You can find the Game Face mask cheaper if you look around. They are fairly comfortable and I'm not ashamed to say that I wear one. All it takes is one mistake and you'll never play again. I'd imagine that if you did take one off the mask, you'd still have a concussion depending on where it hits.
