I have one and love it. Very durable and pretty hot out of the wrapper. Doesn't seem to have the end cap issues other Combat models have had in the past. Pretty good sweet spot too

Discussion: Big Valley Senior Softball Player Registration Starting

If you are in the Northern San Joaquin or Southern Sacramento Counties in California and are looking to play senior softball, the Big Valley Senior Softball club has started player registration for the 2013 season. Go to http://www.bigvalleyseniorsoftball.org/ for details and enrollment forms. We are one of the oldest senior softball organizations in the nation and play a robust 42 game schedule.

Discussion: How deep can infielders play EFFECTIVELY?

Our second baseman plays about 15-20 ft off the dirt on most plays, depending on if the batter is a right handed pull hitter or middle hitter. He probably makes more outs on short flyballs to the outfield, line drives that would normally be over a second baseman's head, than he allows on slow rollers by playing so deep. Our pitchers will cover second, but it is difficult to turn 2 as the pitcher is moving away from the infield to make the put out at 2B.

Discussion: When to change pitchers

We have two pitchers on our team, myself and one other. We usually are the first to know when a team is rocking us or we are struggling with command. So we will trade off in those situations. Our coach sometimes likes to have one of us start and then put the other in half way through. Neither of us care too much fot that as it is harder to get into and stay in a groove.

Discussion: Question for TD's

Scott,
The 4 legged kids are doing well, spent the weekend at the park making friends with everyone. Slept all the following week! I usually enjoy running the Lodi tournaments, but this time it was particularly not enjoyable as some of our volunteers never showed up so I had to run around all morning getting stuff covered. Only one review, tournament was boring. Everyone say to go to ASA bats and balls, but if I did, nobody would come to our tournaments. How are your fur babies?

Discussion: Question for TD's

I'm the TD from Lodi. My schedules were up two weeks ahead of time and I used the tool that Bob made to create and post my schedules. I do believe that any NCSSA can use it if they want. I know of only one that had problems and it was because his email address changed.

Bob Strand of NCSSA passed this weekend. Bob did so much for NCSSA and the tournament directors. He will truely be missed.

Discussion: Reno 60 & 65 teams

Taits,
The Lodi Tournament went well. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and the brackets were good. We did a bat raffle and collected enough to raffle two bats of each winners's choice, plus did a 50/50 raffle. We have 4 winery sponsors that pay most of the awards, so we still make a good profit for our organization.

I'm anxious to see what our competition will be. This is my first year with the Saints and we've been competitive in all of our tournaments so far. I think the only reason we got moved to AAA is that there are 4-5 new quality players.

Discussion: FOLSOM AREA Weather conditions

No problem Scott, we are scheduled for Yuba City and then Lodi for April. Hopefully we will be able to play those. We have been able to get 3 games (a week and a half) played in the Lodi Senior league, but are rained out tonight. They have been doing a great job getting the field ready, just too much water

Johnny,
Go to this website and under rosters find Flatliners. They are a good team out of that area and could probably help you out.

taits, I read this almost every day here and there. I concur with you and hitt2. The problem with this and other boards are with those that thrive on cramming their ideals down everyone elses throat, instead of having an intelligent discussion and agreeing to disagree instead of allowing it to escalate as JT9 stated, into a pissing contest.
