Discussion: Why??????

Why is it that a few have to spoil it for the rest of us?

I used to love to read the Message Board to follow discussions relating to Senior Softball and how we can make it a better sport for all concerned. Now what do we have?

Three guys who have taken over the Board and all are trying to one up the other in length of message, criticism, jabs at the other, namecalling, etc. Ya that would be you taits, einstein, and TNG.

This is about Senior Softball and how to make it even better than it is. It is not about you and your opinions or defensive dribble. Keep to the topic (Senior Softball) and add your insight when it is appropriate.

Now here comes the defensive posture from the \"group\".

Discussion: looking for tournament

We are a 50+ AAA team from Northern California. We are trying to find a tournament at the end of September that will keep us sharp for Phoenix since the Nor Cal tournament for Manteca was cancelled. If you know of any tournaments the last weekend of Sept (29, 30) please list. We would like to stay in the N. Calif area.
Another thought would be if 4 or 5 other teams need to play that weekend, we could get together and play a round robin over the weekend. Did this before and we did a "call your own" instead of paying umps and just had to pay a fee for the fields. Just a thought.

Discussion: Combat

Just saw the ad at their web site about the bat. It is a Senior Combat with a 10" barrel and has red markings. Must be new.

Has anyone used the Senior Combat with the short sweet spot (10") and if you have how does it compare to the regualr Senior combat?

Discussion: Should A Softball Batter Hit Up The Middle And Possibly Endanger A Pitcher?

How about a team going up the middle when they know it is dangerous for the pitcher. Played in a tournament last weekend where a major/plus team took shots up the middle by the pitcher when they knew the sun was directly in the pitchers face and he couldn't see the ball. Play was actually suspended for 45 minutes right after the 2 shots up the middle. What gives these guys the right to endanger another player? They had no conscious about what could have happened to the pitcher. Win at any cost and to hell with the "little guys" on non Major/Plus teams.
