I'm partial to Lanolin ... it's my understanding that shaving creme is used because it contains lanolin ... you can buy just lanolin

Just noticed Centenarians in the $160 range. Maybe price competition has finally hit the senior bat market. It is great when the bat manufacturers experiment with price elasticity of demand.

Seeing unbelievable prices for this bat .... why so cheap? If most senior bats are $190 plus ... what is driving down the price for this bat?

I'm 66 .. I slid once last year and once this year. The slide last year led to some serious regret ... the slide this year made me wonder why i don't push the envelope more often ... guess there is no pat answer

Discussion: Miken U II vs Combat Ambush

I just broke my UII and I already have a Blue Combat MM which I am quite happy with. I definitely want to have at least 2 senior bats. I'm reticent about buying another UII because of the "bad batch" stories, even though I was happy with it.

I have a real interest in the Ambush but I keep remembering all the hype about the Gates Veteran (I believe that was what it was called). To this day I've never seen anyone swing one (Gates) and there is no dialogue about them on the senior sites, for quite some time.

I suspect that because the Ambush is a Combat, it's not likely to be a flame out like the Gates. The problem becomes sorting out hype from fact, in the absence of being able to swing a bat before plunking down $200.

Feedback?

Discussion: New "over 50" league forming in SF East Bay (Orinda)

The City of Orinda is in the process of establishing a new softball league for players over 50 years old. The season is relatively short. It runs from mid June to mid August. Games are played on week day evenings at 6:30 PM. The specific day of the week for this league has not yet been established.

If you are an individual who would like to join a team, please contact me. I'm trying to assemble a team.

Ditto the above ... I wear progressives but can't imagine playing with these ... I bought sport glaases with only my distance prescription and I've never looked back.

I also use them for trapshooting. I wouldn't want to crank my head back too far and have the clay go out of focus

We're ongoing, but game location is mutable due to competition with youth sports for fields. If you are serious about showing up and playing, call my cell for information about a given week's playing field.
