Discussion: Bill Gore's wife Panhandle Hitmen

Here's an update on Bill Gore's wife, Keep on Praying: Bill Gore's wife Donna remains in a Las Vegas hospital, and is doing somewhat better since they have removed her ventilator and feeding tube. They even had her walking a little today. They also plan to move her out of ICU tomorrow if her CT Scan checks out good. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to show progress.

Discussion: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the time to give Thanks for all the health that us Senior Softballers have to be able to play the game at our age and still be highly competitive. Also for our family's, teammates, sponsors and associations that provide venues where we develop the relationships that we have in Senior Softball.
Happy Thanksgiving to all,

Discussion: Bill Gore's wife Panhandle Hitmen

Guys and Gals we need prayers for Bill Gore's wife who had a stroke and now has a blood clot in her heart. They have drilled her skull to relieve pressure but can't do anything with the clot in the heart until she is in better shape. She is currently in ICU and we all will say uplifting prayers for her. Please pass along the prayer request along with your prayers.

In ISSA and ASA 65 and over use 11 fielders and bat as many as desired. In SPA and SSUSA the 11 fielders start at 70 and bat as many as want. This is Senior Ball rules.

Logistics were good but only having one umpire in double elimination games just isn't acceptable, especially when he doesn't know the rules and then cops an attitude when we tried to ask questions. Called batter out for stepping on line, not out of box, doesn't know it's the location of the ball for fair and foul not the fielder, doesn't call batter out for retreating from first, and totally misses call when 3rd base coach all but tackles runner to stop him from scoring. Surely it's bad enough to only have one umpire but totally incompetent just isn't acceptable, they were all easy calls. I know we are not the Majors with instant replay but he didn't need instant replay, just the knowledge to make the correct calls. Then when we had him the second time it was all about him and not the game, fortunately he had a good partner the second time.

Using the Schutt metal and took a bad hop off of chin/cheek area, I'm sure it saved a broken jaw.

Since they are probably on nobody's roster how will they be picked up. We all know they would be rated 50 major+ and pickups are supposed to be from the next age group, so they can't play 50, maybe 45+?????? Anybody have the answer?????

Discussion: West Coast Aftershock -

Had a ball come to me in Birmingham this past weekend that was obviously cooler than the rest, not saying it was iced, just cooler. Maybe the other balls were in the sun and warmer than average but I immediately noticed the coolness being a pitcher. Gave the ball to umpire and it was ok'd for play. End of Story.

Discussion: Reebok Barrage

Sent a Barrage back with less than 40 hits (30oz) and it was received on May 29th. I heard from them Friday saying they were sorry for the failure and that a full refund check would be issued in 5 to 8 weeks. Now it you just reviewed and approved refund why does it take so long to get the money refunded???????????

Discussion: Batters Box

We had another call in Knoxville this weekend and again the batters box was not correctly laid out. It is 4 feet to the front from center of the plate and 3 feet to the rear from center of the plate. Just a correct layout/marking would eliminate almost all of calls. We even as the TD to get it corrected and he refused.
Well we get what we pay for!!!!! LOL

Batter gets a single and rounds first looking at second, relay comes in and the shortstop throws behind runner at first and throw goes out of play. Is runner awarded second or second and third???

Discussion: Tee-shirts or other prizes?

SPA sure didn't spend much on awards for Pensacola, a $2.00 mug and a cheap $5.00 or under travel bag just like they did at the Winter nationals. Just saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They gave golf type shirts last year, with embroidered logo that told what the tourney was and they got the free advertising. This was also listed as a NATIONAL with the higher entry fees to cover awards!!!!!!!!

Discussion: Pitching masks revisited

Just started wearing a Shutt mask this year in tournaments and league. Took one off rubber in Cartersville that would have broken left jaw but instead just jarred head some. Only dead spot I've found is on popups and I flip it off easily and quickly, also haven't found it to hot so far. Won't play without it now.
