Discussion: U-Trip

Filling up our tournament schedule for 2018. Got plenty of ssusa & SPA, but would like to find a U-trip world date and place. Don't get mad at me Dave I'll still ump your Brickyard tourney here in INDY. or Larry Milron, whoever comes to INDY in May.

Discussion: Home plate mat dimensions

Got tired of waiting for the rules to load up on ssusa and spa sites.....I know one of you die hards know the dimensions of the home plate mat, for both associations. Gonna take a nap and check later. Thanks

Discussion: batter's box

Nancy I would think you would be all over this one????? In defense of the umpires...by the 2nd inning, most lines of "dirt" batters boxes are gone...If your lucky enough to have astro turf boxes with painted lines....any part of both the batters feet, need only be touching the lines when the ball is pitched and when the batter makes contact with the ball....and the catcher must be in the catcher's box when the ball is pitched or the pitchers get a ball called even if it hits the mat. How many catchers boxes have ya seen?? I found that out in Dalton when our pitcher walked a batter cause I wasn't back in the catchers box???? He was PO'ed

The new rules state that the team giving the equalizer is automatically home team. Takes a little of the sting out of the double whammy of runs/xtra player & lower class HR limit.

Discussion: Another Safe or out Question

Here's one for the armchair umpires: NSA Mens D....bases loaded 1 out....one hopper to 3rd..instead of going home or touchin 3rd, he fires to 1st....First basemen drops the ball runner safe...The runners that were on 1st & 2nd advance...but the runner on 3rd take 3 or 4 steps toward home and stops as the firstbasemen picks up the ball and runs across the field to tag him for the 2nd out...I'm at the point of the tag focused on the runners standing on 2nd and 3rd..nobodys movin I call time..this is where it gets real crazy....The batter that was safe at first assumed he was out or didn't hear me holla safe and starts off the field...I turn to see him heading for the 3rd base dugout and know I cant call him out till he leaves the playing field....shortstop grabs the ball and runs to tag him out about the pitchers rubber. I toldem I had time and put him back on first...2 outs play ball...teams go nuts...was I right or wrong?

Discussion: They Can't Do That?

Softball6: NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF A TOURNAMENT: They played AA all year and registered as AA. It doesn't matter how they played in the pool play. The time to move them is after the tournament IF they won. Our team has been double dipped to lose a big tournament. What would you do with them if they ended up 2nd or 3rd???

Discussion: They Can't Do That?

Just a comment: I remember telling my Pastor that I was proud to play with an organization that engraved ......"To God be the Glory" on all of its awards. I even witnessed Ridge praying with players over needs in their lives and thought what a wonderful thing. Now I see that his christianity is only lip service. If he truly is a christian he would not let money push him to make unfair decisions. I guess "Beware of Wolves in Sheeps clothing" is a good warning to us all.
