Joe, not sure at this time we are still working out our schedule. Since the southwest championships have been droped in Tucson we are looking to add one and Reno is possible. I was a bit worried that like in Shan after you finnished of all the big gunslingers here that you to left town. I am glad that your demise was greatly exaggerated. Eddie

Discussion: The Real Einstein

Einstein, great point about Eisenhower. Did you know he actually ran for President on ending the Korean War,a republican and the supreme allied commander of WW2 knew " war is a racket"

Discussion: Softball Players Association

Einstien did the seed of this thought sprot from the manager of your Powerline team in Vegas? First let me state that I have been a union member for 27 years, and a union is "only as good as its members" not its leaders. In a union its "leaders" or executive board is elected by its members. One member one vote. Action or "agenda" is brought forward to the executive board by way of a motion presented by any member. Then discussion and voted on by the membership. Unions that use the parliamentary procedure are the purist form of democracy.

Discussion: Why dont teams get to rate umpires ?

Back to the original question " Why dont we get to rate umpires". I brought this up not to wine or complain about the way a game is called. But instead maybe a way of inproving our game. Not all criticism has to be negative. I was thinking that maybe there could be a spot for 1 to 10 rating or 5 star with maybe a small comment section on the score card. Taits I think you have some good ideas about what kind of comments that could be made to help the crew chiefs evaluate their members. Of course we all know some players will just write things like "this ump sucks" or "get him some glasses" but maybe just maybe with some constructive criticsm and positive feedback we can all enjoy a inproved game.

If the Umpires are allowed to help rate our teams in there placement, souldnt we have a say in how good of a umpire they are?

Discussion: Lighting at Phoenix Desert West is Terrible

I have played ball all my life in Arizona and in my opinion no games should be played during twilight. In PHX. we have to much open sky, so between the setting sun in your eyes or the grey backdrop of the sun just setting we are all asking for troubel. After it gets dark at Desert West it is easyer to see the ball, but they should upgrade the lighting at these fields.
