hey dave you may not hear this much but greatschedule for 55AAA. This works wonderful for me and makes it possible to finish my 2nd game by 10:30 and drive to golf course less than hour away for 2nd tee time starting at 12:30. If anyone else is looking for a fun afternoon for a good cause to help needy kids please feel free to come out. Supper will start around 5:30 with silent and live auction going on at same time. Again I feel very thankful and blessed for the attention Senior Softball and you guys having given to Sunshine Acres. Ask for gary Ingle if you attend so I can meet you. Long Bow golf course- 202 east to Higley turn south past Acres Home turn left on LongBow street to clubhouse on right hand side - half mile down.

I just want to thank Senior softball and all others who have talked with me about the golf tournament. Senior Softball has went out of it's way to be helpful to me and to the children at Sunshine Acres. You that have passed on positive info to me have been a real blessing. I had awonderful talk with Fran, Terry and Dave today and their willingness to go beyound thinking about softball and to show a desire to help others has really made a big impact of me. I hope some of you will find a way to visit if schedule does not conflict. Sunshine Acres gives tours of home every day so visit if you get chance or come out for Auction Friday night after two tee times are completed. (5:30 PM)LongBow golf course is right beside Sunshine Acres at 3405 N. Higley Road just off 202 and Higley. Bless you GI

Just wanted to say thanks to kind statements today playing at Fountain Hills seniors tournament. Had about 5 players come up and talk about how proud they were of Senior softball for helping Sunshine Acres. I believe this is just a starting step and i think positive things will happen from these baby steps in caring for others. I am blessed and very thankful to Terry and rest of staff. PS Wow it was great to see little kenney hit a home run against Big Ron our AZ Hall of famer today.

I did check and yes Clubs can be rented at golfcourse.. I attended meeting yesterday to check on that and openings and they still have spots open for both 7:30 and 12:30 tee times. It would be wonderful to see some of players from all divisions participate. I realize some groups that are playing it will be to difficult but feel free to visit if done. 45 minutes from most parks. I am very thankful Senior Softball has opened the door to help us and i look forward to more in the future. Bless you guys. GI- Thanks Terry,Fran, Dave and George and rest of group.

Thanks for interest. I have been asked if it has to be a foresome. No, It is 175.00 per person or $600 for 4 people. We also are doing a raffle, live and silent auction starting at 5:30 PM Fri. night. Thank you Senior Softball for working with team schedule's. Channel 12 has agreed to MC the event during the supper meal.In the past some sponsors do not fill out the 4 man group and I am able to fill open spots with less than 4 people. I also invite Children's Home staff, children and others to fill in when sponsors pay fees to cover event but cannot attend. I understand Golf course has clubs to use and I will check on that. Again thank you for your support , GI

Hello fellow softball players. I am part of group that runs charity golf tournament for Sunshine Acres Childrens Home in Mesa AZ . It will be held at Long Bow golf course besides the children's Home off 202 and N. Higley Road. It will be held on Fri before Thanksgiving and there will be two tee times 7:30 AM and noon. Meals will be served for Breakfast and lunch and a supper and auction after 2nd tee time group is done around 5:30 PM.Sunshine Acres is a children's Home that takes care of 70 children and has had over 1700 live there since home was started in 1954. No child is EVER turned away due to lack of funds and the state and city does not fund the program. Private home that does not solict for funds. I worked there for 16 years and since I no longer work there am part of group that wants to help the home. Foursome is $600.00 and I think for anyone who is in area and has finished the older divisions it might be a fun way to wrap up a week here. Senior softball has toured the home and I understand Dave plans to come out Fri for the auction. My name is Gary Ingle and I play with CJS in the 55 age group. This home is a special place where kids can live here through college and they come from homeless, parents in prison etc. I took in a family of 7 age 3 to 13 many years ago when grandparent said the court dropped off 7 kids on doorstep and she was 69 years old. The kids lived with us for 6 years. If not interested please feel free to tour the home and see how faith in God has blessed this home in the desert. You can e-mail me at Dingle9104@msn.com for more info or call me at 480-981-6406. Thank you for any interest and we still have openings for both times and still are looking for sponsors etc. This is our 15th year to hold event. All profits go to home and golf course is not charging us any fees to play on course.Bless all of you and look forward to seing you at Winter Worlds. GI

They will be fine there . 3 of their first 4 players hit homeruns against us and they ended up with 8 or 9 homeruns and many against the fence. Good bunch of players. had to be to beat Just For Fun.

Hi Webbie, I do not understand what all those letters mean. Now I understand what those Kindergarten kids feel like when learning ABC's. HA. Mark all I know is that no matter what your age is I gave up less Home Runs this year because I did not have to pitch to you this year. I hope to run into you in Vegas. GI

Discussion: Flagstaff Thanks Rick

Just getting back from a very nice cooler weekend playing softball in Flagstaff. I wish to thank Rick S. and his staff for putting on the event. Loved the rain during game, felt great to get out of that heat in Phoenix. We played the 55 AAA division and wish to gives congrates to JUST FOR FUN for winning another tournament. I have to be honest you guys are the best around but I enjoy playing AGAINST YOU AND YOU GUYS ARE REALLY A GREAT BUNCH. You guys have really have been successful during last year winning two Winter and Spring Worlds and several others. You deserve your success and I think you could do very well in the Worlds in SEPT. The other teams out of Prescott and Vegas - UTAH area RTM really did well to and even though we lost to all 3 of you they were fun games. As we all are aware in life time is often short and we sometimes forget to say nice things or take time to realize what memories we are making at the time. Being on the field against good competition and enjoying the friendships that are made on the softball field are really much more important than wins or losses. I sometimes forget that so again thanks Softball staff for making it posiible for us to spend time together this past weekend. Bless you guys and girls, Be safe. GI CJS

Discussion: The Passing of Steve Simmons

Life is so short but it is good to hear that it sounds like Steve was a good man who loved God, His family and softball. God has given each of us a promise that he will never leave or forsake us and now he is in the hands of God. To his family we wish you only wonderful memories and I am sure his impact will continue for those that knew him as a person. Bless you all in the days ahead.

Discussion: Ratings

I was wondering if the new ratings were going to come out soon. I was thinking they may be changed in last month or so? Just checking as I am aware of teams that have won several big tournaments and thought we might not be facing them anymore this year. I realize that alot of stuff is going on so it may not have been possible for thoughts about ratings change. Looking forward to a cooler Flagstaff this weekend.

Discussion: Prayers needed for the Dowell family

Fran and Dave you have taken good care of me several times when hurt on the field. The least I can do is let you know you are in my prayers and that CJS EXpress wish you and family comfort during these difficult times. God has a plan, not always one we as humans understand but I believe in his work. Bless you for your kindness to me over the years and please stay in touch and let us know if any of us can do anything for you.. You guys are part of our softball family and I am blessed by having you as friends. Gary Ingle

Discussion: READY TO PLAY AGAIN

Tom was great to see you batting away at times in Precott this past weekend. With (Ainn't Done yet) I saw that Just for Fun must have really been scared of you and walked you almost evry time. You did get one decent pitch and hit it over fense, Do not feel bad about losing to Just for fun by one run. They have been winning alot past year and are coming off winns in the Winter worlds and I believe went undeafed in the Spring words in Vegas end of April A great bunch of guys who I believe will soon be moved to major and will do well there also.I still hope yu catch on with us but really wish you the best. I stayed home Sunday my knee was to swollen to play. I did my best Sat for 3 games and somehow finished with 1out after 11 at bats. I hope we did well today and I plan to recover soon to get to Denver next Thursday. GI Great weather bless all. Great to see Dave Clark amd Mark Allup.

Discussion: READY TO PLAY AGAIN

Tom can help a team. He played two weeks ago in Pinetop with our CJS Express team. He batted 750 and had 23 RBI after 7 games. He hit a home run against the wind on the 320 fence. I suggest Bandits from AZ consider him.He can play 50 or 55's. His attitude is great and he can catch, 1st base or DH. I wish he was playing for us this weekend in Prescott but I understand we have 16 guys on roster and that makes it tough to keep all happy. Good luck Tom.

Discussion: WESTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS....A concern?

I am sure Terry Fran , George and dave will take great care of us senior guys just as in past. I am wondering if this recent senseless killing of people at a movie place in Aurora will have any impact on the games? I am sure all will be aware of the need to be sensitive of this community and to do all that we can to support them during this time of crisis. My heart and prayers go out to all there and realize the pain they are experiencing will affect them for the rest of their lives. Sure puts less importance on winning and losing at a time like this. Hugs to you guys and ladies and look us up in 55's as we play for CJS Express. GI

Discussion: TOURNAMENT WINNER AUTO MOVEUP

I am not sure but winning a national tournament does not always mean a move up. A team out of AZ. has won the Winter worlds Nov.2011 and now have won the Spring Worlds in Vegas April 2012 and I believe are still listed as AAA in 55 division. It can be a very difficult decision when deciding to move up or down a team. I know we took our lumps after winning worlds 3 years ago and were bumped up after losing over half our team. We played out the whole year and after the year were able to move back down to AAA.One of the rewards for success is moving up and seeing how you will compete. If you show that you can play at level you will stay if not you can ask to move back down after the proper period of time. I am thankful for this chance to compete no matter what the level. Love of the game and sharing time is still why I continue to show up.
