Monday I play in 2 different leagues, 50 and older in Elk Grove and a C league at Laguna Park. Wed I play in a coed C league in Elk Grove, and Thurs I play in 40 and older in Elk Grove Park. If you know Rudy Rodriguez (umpire) he knows me. I am looking for a team to play with in the California Cup and other tournaments.

I turn 50 in October and know the game well as I umpired SSUSA for years. Can hit, run and play any position.

Discussion: Umpiring

I heard a rumor that last years' experiment with the National Elite Umpiring Crew has been scrapped and will be going back using local umpires. Has anyone else heard about this? I thought that last year, the umpiring was a little more consistant. If this is true, I'll try USSSA.

I was at Rancho. Wind was strong, made it tough to pitch. I think they need wider mats for these wind conditions. Umpires were really good. I like to see the hustle, good or bad call. I think that there was a father-son umpire team that I have seen at a lot of tournaments who make the game fun! Outside of the wind and dust, I was happy with the outcome (even though we didn't do so well). I look forward to the Cup, maybe we'll have better luck.
