TEXAS T.-- yes, we are playing sat 3/20, @ 9;00, 11;00, and 1:30pm, it s/be a nice day, for a tournament. i am anxious to start playing again, i pounded the weights pretty consistantly this last couple of months, trying to get some upper body strenght. i hope it helps in getting the ball out of the infield!! see you there if you are coming!

oops! hey, TEXAS T., it's looks like the 55 and the 60's will only have 4-or 5 teams in each age bracket. too bad, i thought that being a SSUSA qualifier and the MIKEN ULTRA U-2 BEING ALLOWED that there would be more interest in this tournament. WE WILL PLAY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ONLY . (PLS VERIFY )looking @ the weather forecast it appears that it will be a great weekend. i will be playing with the TEXAS LEGENDS 60'S. I AM #11. say hi if we run across each other. FRANK ARMIJO

Discussion: AA teams playing Major +?

BRUCE, as a AAA player, i would like the 5 runs per classification, AAA rules to apply on HR'S. additional HR'S could be outs or singles. 5 runs max per inning. i would be more concerned about AA teams playing major and major plus from the point of hurting somebody. the big guys hit the ball too hard, and most of the AA players dont have the skills to handle the hard shots , especially in the infield. also, any losses or wins (hA ! ) by the AA teams over the major or major plus teams should not count in the tournament standings. my .02c, thanks! FRANK

Discussion: HIT THE MIDDLE.

1) add simple rule to the league: you hit the pitcher, you forfeit the game, and are through for the nite: the same player hits another pitcher later, that player gets suspended for the season. 2) give the pitcher control of the game, UNLIMITED ARC, MAKE THE STRIKE ZONE 2FT X 3FT, that way the pitcher can pitch deep, short, inside and outside, that puts the batter on the defensive. THE SCARY PART, in reading various websites, people are offering ultra 1's and ultra II's that repainted as other less potent bats and you cant tell the difference . AND GUESS WHO IS BUYING these repainted bats? the young egotistical idiots that in their vainess is going to kill somebody by hitting up the middle. strictly my opinion.

Discussion: lvssa--uusas sept/oct tournaments

i understand that the LVSSA has most las vegas fields reserved for their oct 1- oct 3 tournament, leaving SSUSA to go find fields elsewhere, like HENERSON,NV. since most everybody likes to hang around the strip or downtown, this could affect which association we will play with. this is an interesting situation, we have to wait and see how this plays out. might also be interesting how much the fees are for both associations.

too bad that these associations didnt get together to resolve the dates. the teams that plan to attend at this time in sept/oct. have some choices to make. 1) choose by fees ?, 2) choose by numbers of teams attending each one? 3) choose by who runs the best tournament keeping the players in mind? 4 ) who will get the better fields ? 5) what else??? pls add your comments. HOPEFULLY THEY will get their stuff together and resolve this mess to avoid future conflicts.

Discussion: DOCTORED BATS

we all need to follow the rules laid out by the associations, this game we love to play must be kept as clean as possible. most of us are willing to give 100% in all games with the approved equipment, we cant win all the games, but i dont mind losing, knowing that we give it our best shot and lost. anybody caught using a doctored bat should be banned for life by all associations, period. it should be up to the team manager to make it clear to the players, that use of illegal bats will not tolerated. if the team doesnt control it , then if caught, the team should be banned for a year from any and all tournaments. if you cant help but cheat, find another sport, and remove yourself from this one. my .02c.

it feels like a slight end load, feels like the sweet spot is pretty close to the end. i bought one for the plano spa tournament (27 oz)last year, took out of wrapper and used it immediately in a game, i couldnt get the ball out of the endfield, when i got home i went to the nearest tree and gave it around 100-150 gentle to medium hits, it loosened up, next day back at the tournament, went 7 for 8, nothing but line drives over the infielders, not a U2, BUT SINCE THE U-2 is banned, this will work pretty good for 200.00 bat. my .02c frank
