My bad.

Sorry I incorrectly spelled a midling city in an inconsequential state.

Not sure I knew it, but it is what I suspected.

Just reinforces my point, guys won't give up the benefits of the R&D of others. What I don't get is why guys who don't need the special bats, you being one of them, so easily give up a lot of your advantage by letting lesser hitters equalize themselves with technology.

Very good hitter, guys. Very good.

And a good guy.

"and we needed to change something"

Bruce, was any thought given to changing the bats? If not, why not?

And why was the ball discussion "quickly dismissed"?

Just wait until you get the Ohio Nationals. And the Albequerque Worlds. And the Main Street Intergalactics.

"semantics"???

C'mon swing. Fall and Winter have been distinctly different seasons, and November has not been part of Winter for, oh I don't know, decades. Centuries?

Just like the East and West are not nations, November is not in the winter. I understand names are just names, but if that is the case then why can't accuracy ever be used by the association? When someone is constantly playing with the truth I get quite suspicious of their motives.

Oh, back to the question. Why aren't winter worlds held in the winter? Or, why aren't they called Fall Worlds?

I don't think I was speaking for anyone else.

"But guys can spend however they choose" I believes this says as much.

As far as the Barnum reference, it has quite a bit of merit. Just read the many complaints about tournament awards, or the lack of quality. Yet the same guys seem to keep showing up. Again, they can do what they want, but the reference has some application here.

And I have enough to go around.......:)

Understood.

And yes this is time for me, but between some sparring with the clones I have met some good guys and even learned a thing or two.

All entertaining and even occasionally informative at no real cost.

I might be some form of participant, but no association is profiting off of me.

And this is not a hard dollar cost to me, so I am good with it.

Don't get me wrong, any playing is a good thing. But there is a point where the return on the hard dollars, and even time, spent does not yield a satisfactory return when there are better options out there. Or at least much better from a cost/benefit perspective.

All I can do is present what needs to change, and why. Sort of like leading the horse to water but............

Still seeing a LOT of tiny brackets and combined brackets, so I don't see a lot of health in senior softball in the vast majority of tourneys.

But guys can spend however they choose, just like PT Barnum was counting on.

Why do you park in a driveway and drive on a parkway?

Why are Winter Worlds not held in the winter?

The "seeding" games are little more than expensive exhibitions.

Sure, but they will still be more rasonable for the oldest, slowest group still playing the game than the special bats banned for guys under 50.

And no, no way it gets to me as fast. Real life trumps laboratory science.

HJ, sounds like you believe that timing college wide receivers in the 40, seeing how high and far they can jump, timing shuttle runs, and various other "measurables" tells you more about how good a player the guy will be than watching him actually play football.

It is the old Fielder's Choice on Mill Road. Off of Brecksville Road, just north of the intersection of Brecksville and 82.
