| Oct. 10, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: rumor has it Jawood, I would just add time to the games. 90 minutes should be the time limit at worlds for the Major+ games. I will never vote on over the fence balls being an out at the top level of play. Being able to swing away helps protect the pitcher and infielders. At my age I don't want people trying to it hit down on purpose. I'd rather see them try and hit it out. |

| Oct. 9, 2012 Mario | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: LV World Tournament Discussion Jawood it was nice to get to meet you as well. Tell all your guys congradulations on a great tourney. You guys deserved to win it all. I tried to get to most of you guys after the game, but I think I missed some. Great job and see you next time!!! |
| Oct. 8, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: How many players do you hit in worlds? Just wondering of all the championship teams that won Vegas, how many guys do you hit in the finals? I saw that Northwest Legends either hit 10 or 11. I saw Somerville hit 10, I believe that Nazzerno hit 10 or 11, and I think East Bay Oldies hit 10 or 11. Our team, OKI, hits up to 15. I think in our last game in Vegas we had it down to 13. If you would please tell me what team your with, what division and how many you hit in the finals. |

| Oct. 8, 2012 Mario | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: LV World Tournament Discussion Goodtimes, OKI went 4-2. Don't aske me how this happened but Sunday morning in our 2nd game we played a team that was 1 and 3 while we were 4 and 1. Have not figured that bracketing out yet. But we lost to them in the bottom of the 7th inning 39-38. In our first loss Saturday morning we only scored 21 runs. In Fridays pre-liminary games we scored 39 the first game and 52 the second game and ended up the number 2 seed because of runs against. |
| Oct. 3, 2012 Mario | Topic: Associations Discussion: future of senior softball Jawood, I totally agree with you. We, OKI are only partially sponsored and all of our guys are from a bordering state so this rule change would not hurt us, but help us. |
| Oct. 2, 2012 Mario | Topic: Associations Discussion: future of senior softball Now that I have seen the senior game for 3 years, we should just leave everything the way it is. Everybody that wants to play Major+ is playing there now. Let everyone else stay down and play where they want to. The senior game should not be any different than the young kids game. There are only 4 Super teams in young kids ball and there are about 8-10 Major plus teams in the 50+ division. Nobody at the plus level wants to play people who don't want to be in the division with them. There is a team that I want to give props to and that is the team from Minnesota that is playing up because they want to play the best teams in the nation. Kivett I think is the name of their team. Those are the kind of teams that I want to play. Not the teams that have been forced up. The plus division is just fine the way it is right now. LEAVE US ALONE!!!! |
| Sept. 12, 2012 Mario | Topic: Bats Discussion: How much difference does an ounce make? The heavier bat will hit the ball farther if the bat speed is the same. |
| Aug. 20, 2012 Mario | Topic: Bats Discussion: What does it take? Mike, Dale Mayo here, I think if I get 5-600 swings out of a senior bat, I'm doing good. I average about 12-1400 out of the young kids bats. So I think about 1/2 of that is a good honest number. |
| Aug. 9, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Manassas, Va. Crump, then why do we have age groups at all? So we can play people at the same age and ability level, right? Having 60 year olds play 55's is not right in my opionion. Otherwise lets all play against each other, that way we would have more teams to play against. No, we all don't want that so let them play their own age group. |

| Aug. 8, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Open or Closed stance.. If you start with a closed stance, then chances are you are not totally opening up your hips. Most senior players have a bad hip rotation as we get older. The open stance lets you open your hips more, thus giving you more power. |
| Aug. 7, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: My Daughter Lord we pray for the transplant network to approve this request in Jesus name. I pray that everything involved in this situation would turn out for the good of Jacki. We pray for the family as well, that they would have your peace through all this and that you will get the glory when all is said and done Amen!!!!! |
| Aug. 7, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Manassas, Va. How many of you guys would like to be moved down an age group? How many of you want to play against teams that are up to 10 years younger than most of your team? Probably none of you. This was just their way of getting them out of the tourney. Same problem just in the older age group. |
| Aug. 6, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Heartland Hollis won both the 50 Major and the 60 Major. |
| Aug. 2, 2012 Mario | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Why remove teams from a Division? Tim, I believe its as good as its gonna get. Like I have stated before, I know there are a few Major teams that could compete at the Plus level but for whatever reason they choose not to. If I was in charge and was given the job to try and fix this I would combine Major and Plus and Play SSUSA Major rules. 7 HR's 2 up and a walk. My reason for doing this is what just happened to us in Dalton, in the Plus division. We ended up playing a Major rated team in SSUSA in the finals. GSC/Howards construction. Now they were smart enough not to match us home runs, so they never hit their 7 unless they were the home team. So all extra HR's were walks. I seen first hand that this could work. Having said all that, after listening and chatting about this issue on this board, I would just leave it the way it is and just make World winners move up. This way they will add 1-2 teams every couple of years and by that time I'll be playing 60's. Bottom line is teams have to want to play at the Plus level. Right now thats the way it is. |
