Discussion: TOURNAMENT WINNER AUTO MOVEUP

I've changed my mind, I don't want any Major teams to move up to Major Plus. Just let them all keep playing down. I only want to play the teams that want to play the best and try to beat the best teams in the nation in senior softball in the Plus division.

Discussion: TOURNAMENT WINNER AUTO MOVEUP

This past weekend we played a team that was moved up by SPA to the Major Plus level. TSC/Howards Construction. They play Major in all the other sanctions. They stayed right with us in both games, 33-32 and 39-36. So, all this talk about Major teams not being able to compete is a bunch of hogwash. They competed and very well I might say. Why should we have to give up some of our players just because we won a championship? What other team would the other 6 or 7 guys play for? There are just not enough Plus teams in our area for those guys to go to. SPA Major Plus rules are the same as all the other sanctions Major rules. Combining the 2 divisions WILL work, it was proven in Dalton this past weekend. Just think how nice that tourney would have been with 20 teams. The 16 in the Major division and the 4 in the Plus division.

Good to see you too Bruce. And it was nice to get to meet Alan and John from Team 1 Sports. I thought all 4 teams in the 50+ Major Plus division showed a lot of class by the way everything went down. We had our hands full with TSC/Howards Construction. In a couple of years they will be a plus team to be reccond with. Just goes to show everyone that Major teams can compete at the Plus level. They play Major in all the other sanctions. So good job to everyone and congrats to all the winners and we will see you guys down the road sometime!!!!

With everything that I have seen while playing senior ball and everything I have seen written on this board, I believe no matter what you do there will always be those who don't wnat to play up for whatever reason. If you took away the bordering state rule, our team OKI, would still have 7 of our players because we are all from the same state. I guarantee you we could find 5-6 more from our home state that were capable and willing to play Major Plus with us.

Discussion: Should SSUSA ever bump a team?

Tri18, I have only been playing 50 Major Plus 2 years now and it makes no sense to me to see all these Major teams that could move up and compete, stay at the Major level. Its no different than back in the day when there were only 4 Super Major Teams. The difference in Senior ball is everybody wants to have the big teams play down to their level. Not like going to the Smokey and getting you brains beat out by one of the 4 Super teams. I for one wanted to play the big teams, thats how I ended up on one of them. If a guy wants to play on a better team, you better be playing them and prducing!!!

I'm for the merger if they changed the rules to somewhere in the middle, like I said 8 HR's 1 up and walks would be fine. The out of region does not effect us because all of our guys live in bordering states. Right now in Spa the HR rule is 7 1 up and walks and it works just fine. I a Major team can hit 5 or 6 then they can hit 8.

I think they should combine Major and Major Plus as well. Where I disagree is the HR limits. If you combine the 2 why penalize the Plus teams by making them play the Major rules? Why not meet halfway, instead of 6 HR's, make it 8 HR, 1 up and a single. I believe you should never penalize someone for hitting the ball over the fence.

Stretch I was using the Yellow Rebok.

Stick, I have only swung the Yellow one, have not found anyone using a 29 or 30oz Red one or I would tell you if there was a difference. You know that the Yellow one is endloaded and the Red one is balanced, right?

Today I hit the new gray made in USA Miken and compared it to my personal Rebok Melee Legend. The Miken hit pretty good I thought. Ball came off of it really well with plenty of zip. Hit 4 real long home runs with it. Then I Pulled out my Rebok, and I was amazed at the difference in distance. I hit 7 really long home runs and they were all longer by about 20-30 feet than with the Miken. This was my first expirience with comparing bats at the same batting practice session. So for me I'll stick with my Rebok. Both bats were 30 oz.

Tattooball just wanted to let you know that I did recieve my replacemant bat for the 1 that broke. Thanks, you said that I had sent it to the wrong place. Where should I send the one that just broke after 75 swings? Its after hours or I would be calling you. You can call me at 317-281-0734 or just put it on this message board whichever you prefer.
