Discussion: Question about Ratings

How can a team that won a Regional and the TOC in the same year not be moved up to the next level? And a team that did not win any tournament be moved up a lavel? The SSUSA rating system does not make sense!

Discussion: Preliminary games

Does a player have to play in a preliminary game to be eligable to play in the tournament itself? I know a team has to play but if the player is on the roster and cant show up till saturday, can he play?

Discussion: 29 oz Worth 510 Launch - Gold

I appreciate the offer Paco13 but minimum I would take is $100, and not sure about that. By the way I never use my senior bats for BP, I have a Miken NRG and a Worth M7 Mayhem for that.

Discussion: 29 oz Worth 510 Launch - Gold

I have a used 29 oz Gold Worth 510 Lanch I am looking to sell. It has may be 75-100 swings on it and is in very good condition (a few scratches). I am not sure what the going rate is for one of these used! I am thinking $150.

Discussion: Congrats CJ Express & Los Vetos

Congradulations to two good teams and good people who we have had the pleasure of playing the last few years in Phoenix. Way to have great tournys in your own backyard.
I see they already bumped you guys up to Major! GOOD LUCK!! We played Major this year and a won a total of 3 games in 3 tournaments (and averaged over 20 runs a game). Thank God we were rerated and are now back where we belong in AAA.
Wish both teams luck in Tournament of Champions!!

Bruce, agree with most of what you said. Fields, weather and staff were fantastic. But playing 1-2 games a day and stretching the tournament out makes for a long week. Also way to many divisisions. In 55 we had Major, AAA, AA, A, B, C & D. 5 teams in each division. This is not a tournament its a round robin. We played one team 3 times and 2 others twice! Glad I did it once, I will not go again!

Discussion: First Taste of PPR it was BITTER!

Played in the Lansing Qualifier with Geckle this weekend. You are right the PPR ruke was not called the same by every umpire, it was very inconsistant.
But you guys did not hit at the pitcher, cant say the same for Motown Stars, they were hitting the middle with a 15 run lead in the last inning, our pitcher had enough and walked off the mound.

This was our first tournament as a Major team (after being moved up last year without winning anything). Its not fun going 0-5 and getting out hommered 19 to 2. We are a legit AAA team not a Major team.

SSUSA - to avoid more confusion change your MAP tourny director for the Midwest Championship, it still shows July 21 not June 12-14,

Hey JR!! Yea that team was MTC, they are know Major again. I id hit one but that was all we hit against them. We are waiting for the new ratings to come out before we set up our tournys. Some people think we should be Major.
Hope to see you this year.

Please explain to me how this new rule would have hurt you when you did not hit any HR's? Robrts would have scored less runs because the HR's would have been outs not singles!?

Discussion: Looks like more associations are going to allow senior bats.

Just got this from ISSA, yes ISF and ISSA are going to Senior bats.

Beginning January 1, 2009 the equipment standards for bats and balls will be established in accordance with the current addition of the ISF Official Rules of Softball and/or as established in the tournament rules. To be consistent with the equipment rules, the ISSA tournaments will play by the same equipment standards. The bats allowed in the 2009 ISF Senior World Cup, the ISSA World Championships and the ISSA Winter Nationals will include all bats currently allowed by any member organization of the Senior Summit. This will include ASA Certified and BPF 1.2 Certified bats. The Senior Bats.will be allowed in all senior divisions of play. The balls to be used in these events will be the Dudley Thunder Advance, .44 core with maximum 375 compression. Given the recent experience from senior tournaments throughout the world and the feedback from participating players, the ISF and ISSA have jointly agreed to adopt the equipment rules preferred by the vast majority of the senior players today and now being used in most senior tournaments

I expect more teams to show up this year.
