Oct. 3, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Faults of SPA Boy you got that right!!!!! There does need to be something done. My team 55AAA had a 60 MAJOR???? not sure about this rating,but we had to give up 5 runs and were never even in the game with these guys. Nothing personal against them they were great guys to play but way over our head. Then on top of that after putting us out on Sat they left and went home not playing at all on Sun. If you were lucky enough to not have played them at all WOW what an ADVANTAGE. We won both of our pool games and our first bracket game. One other team that only played 1 pool because of a forfit won both of theirs also, but the drop down team got the #2 seed we got the 3rd seed. This happend in every age group but the 50s and guess who won them all majors I think. Only reason they didn't win ours was they left. I don't have a problem playing them as consolation but they should not be competing for the goods of a AAA tournament!!!!!
Aug. 4, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Bats Discussion: Reebok Customer Service I have sent 3 back and on all three it takes 7 wks to get a return . On the first one I called several times checking on it always talking to the same lady(always get a name and #) was very nice each time on the last ones didnt even bother to call all bats were delivered around 7 or 8 wks.Dont think calling really helped any on the first one so didnt bother on the others.
July 27, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Website comments Discussion: Survey Time: YES I would play with this combo USSSA/44/300 balls. Would rather have this combo than senior bats and 52/275 balls. I also still like the present senior combo. As far as players altering the bats there will always be cheaters in any game, CALL THEM OUT WHEN YOU SEE THEM DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO PLAY OUR GAME!!!!!
July 26, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Bats Discussion: On My Honor I'm with you big guy I have no problem putting my name and honor on the line in saying I will never and have never considered using any kind of altered equipment for the purpose of enhancing my game. I will also refuse to play with anyone useing altered equipment. Play fair or don't play at all. You can play hard ,aggressive and get down and dirty and still keep it clean. Joey Ammons Col.55s

July 25, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Website comments Discussion: Hot bats Played in a NSA tourney this weekend in Boaz Ala and couldn't use senior bats only NSA,USSSA bats.Also used the 44/400 balls, this bat ball combo seemed to do very well even in the high heat!!! I think this is a VERY GOOD bat, ball combo. I think before I would want to go to the 52/300 and senior bats I would rather play with the NSA bat,ball combo. There were still some balls flying out of the 300' fences most of our games were upper teens up to the upper 20s. Defense was really awesome as most pitchers were fairly good at handling the up the middle balls. Another plus to this combo these usssa bats really last a lot longer!! Just something to think about???????? On another topic any altering of the bat in any way other than swinging it in a game hitting balls is an ALTERED BAT. KEEP IT SIMPLE, PLAY BALL, THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY GAMES LEFT!!!!!!
July 21, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: When did it all start for you? I can still remember the first TPS I ever swung it was like WOW!!!!! Then when the worth supercell C405 came I thought it can't get any better than this, but the balls got better too. I wouldn't mind going back to those bats as long as we went back to the hot balls too. My first home run was hit with the TPS up until then I was nothing but a base hitter could put the ball anywhere I wanted to. The home run thing was and still is addictive to me, its really hard for me I have to work constantly at not trying to just hit the ball hard with no thought other than wanting it to fly out of the park. This last yr I have seen where I think I can do my team way more good returning to that way of hitting so thats what I'm trying to do . Still enjoy hitting the occational long ball but would be more happy with the higher batting average, even so still like a good ball and bat. KEEP IT SIMPLE, PLAY FAIR, THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY GAMES LEFT, ENJOY THE MOMENT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL END!!!!!!!!
July 18, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Bats Discussion: What Do You Think I could agree to the bat change if we go back to the hot balls of yesteryear. I watched some young guys playing in local city tourney the other night using the 52/300 ball sounded like a mush ball contest. Even so there were only 2 maybe 3 bats being used by either team recon they were doctered??? They were still mashing this ball but they were young,strong and fast. If you loose the ultras and the balls boy howdy will that really change the game don't know if I would vote for that???? Still say let the players that are registered for senior ball vote and lets see where the chips fall. KEEP IT SIMPLE,PLAY FAIR,ACT LIKE GROWN MEN SHOULD,THERES ONLY SO MANY GAMES LEFT!!!!!

I to have played on some fields that were really bad but the fields we play league on are great. We dont have most of these problems with seeing the ball at night. Sounds like the lights need some serious attention!!!

I still say poll all registered players and lets get a consensus from the players!!!!! KEEP IT SIMPLE,LETS PLAY BALL, THERE AREN'T ENOUGH DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!

Best advise I have ever gotten on pitching and being hit at 1 IT'S NOT IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET HIT IT'S WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO GET HIT. 2 2 STEPS BACK STOP AND PUT YOUR GLOVE UP BE PREPARED. 3 CATCHING THE BALL AND THROWING THE RUNNER OUT WILL STOP THIS AS QUICK AS ANYTHING YOU CAN DO. 4 YOU CAN NOT DEFEND YOURSELF IF YOU ARE BACKPEDLING STOP AND GET READY. 5 MOST PITCHERS I KNOW CAN TELL ALMOST IMEMEDIATLY IF IT'S COMING BACK UP THE MIDDLE. 6 I USE THE MIDDLE AS MUCH AS ANYONE BUT WOULD NEVER EVER TRY AND HIT THE PITCHER TO ME THATS AS LOW AS A GROWN MAN CAN GET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7 WE ARE NOT KIDS ANYMORE WE SHOULD PLAY LIKE GROWN MEN. 8 NOT EVERY BATTER CAN CONTROL WHERE THEY HIT THE BALL SOME JUST HIT THE PITCH WHERE IT'S THROWN. Stops a lot of runners just for extra speed. I also think this is a much abused part of the game. 1 GOOD BATS AND BALLS 2 MAKE IT TO FIRST AND NEED RUNNER FINE ANYTHING PAST FIRST NO RUNNER 3 ONE UP ON HRS AFTER 3 4 STRIKE ZONE IS FINE LIKE THIS LINE DON'T FORK IT UP!!!!!!! KEEP IT SIMPLE,LETS PLAY BALL, THERE ARN'T ENOUGH DAYS LEFT!!!!!!
July 10, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Player Poll Tater,Perly and I hashed on this topic this weekend and even us as teamates had some different opinions. After that and reading these posts I really think Tater is right do a poll of everyone and I'm assuming everyone that plays is registered with either spa,ssusa and see what the players want. Use the player registration number to track who or help keep crooks from stuffing the polling box!!!!!!We can argue over this just talking or posting every once in awhile but will never really know what players really want. There are only a few who are passionate enough about the game to get on here and debate this and thats great, but at the same time everyone should have some input, if you are a registered player. There are a lot of players that will never voice there opinion otherwise, seems to me this would speak for us and put some of this to rest at least till the next poll, WHY NOT????????? LET THE PLAYERS MAKE THE CALL!!!!
July 6, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Stepping out of the batters box The strike zone should be moved forward some if not 12 inches. Also I dont like the outside lines either purpose????? Move the front line forward 6 to 12 inches remove the outside lines and lets play ball. Who cares how far you stand from the plate as long as you don't step on the plate????? Some of us are bigger than others with longer armes!!!
July 6, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Player Poll (1) Equal bats and balls for all if possible????? Don't matter to me. (2) I like the rule that if you pass 1st and make it to second you do not get a runner, but if you can only make it to 1st and need one you can get one. Per inning 2 only. (3) 3 and a walk in pool and 3 and a out in bracket suits me. (4) I'm too easy I guess either way suits me I guess the whole purpose of this is to speed up the game and to make you swing the bat, works for me. All in all I just WANT TO PLAY BALL EVERY DAY LETS KEEP IT SIMPLE AND PLAY BALL THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!!! I do like the hot bats but it does't seem to be much different than back when we had hot hot balls and single and double wall bats only difference is the bats dont last and they cost 2,3,4 times as much as they did back 20 years ago. I'm not hard to get along with I JUST WANT TO PLAY BALL!!!!!!!! You never know when it might all END.
July 1, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: What is Senior Softball to you? My first two yrs in senior ball have been nothing less than awsome. The people I have met and the level of competition. Senior ball is so much better than when I played in my 20s and 30s the guys I play with don't have the attitudes that was every where in my early years.The group that I play with is so positive and upbeat, we just have such a great time playing together, It shows in the games we play. It's more of a team effort than an indivitual one. May just be our group but most of the teams we play seem to be the same way.

June 1, 2011 GaCMan	Topic: Bats Discussion: Cracked my new blue combat today Bought a blue 26endload from anaconda it broke last sunday somewhere around 200 to 300 swings on it are there any recourses on it like the reebok or are you just out of luck????? The combat took quit a while to start to hit from that time till it broke didn't last very long either!!
