Discussion: Las Vegas Worlds - Looking to Play

Looking to play in Las Vegas Worlds in September. Just turned 70 yrs old and would like to play in 65 or 70 AAA. Play a lot of ISSA and SPA in Ohio and normally play 3rd, 1st and OF.
Very good hitter and fielder.

Dave, I did call the office and yes I can play on a team as an out-of-border player from 2 states away. So in addition to the Ohio border states I could also play on a team from Tennessee, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland, Missouri, Wisconsin or New York.

Believe SSUSA allows one to join a team within 2 states from Ohio.
Still interested in playing in Vegas Worlds in September.

Would love to play in Vegas tournament this fall. I am 69 years old and live in Ohio. Can play 1st, 3rd and OF. Don’t mind if I have to catch. Very good hitter, played AAA senior traveling ball for 17 years.

James, I completely agree. I too would like to see SSUSA allow (1) 69 year old to play on a 70 team for the 2022 season. Then at the end of the year they could evaluate to see if they want to continue on.

Dave, your last post on this topic was about a month ago and it stated we may hear something early 2022. Just wondering if allowing a 69 year old playing on a 70s team is still ‘in the works’. I sure hope so and it would be wonderful if it could implemented for this coming 2022 season.
Thank you

Is this topic still under discussion? Why not start slow and allow at least (1) 69 year old play with the 70s and see how it goes?

I too am anxious to hear when this will go into affect. We would be able to play SSUSA tournaments this year. It would be great if it could be used in the February TOC.

Brett,
Just sent you an email. I live in Ohio so not sure you can add me to your roster but can play 1B, RF, 3B. Good hitter and have played AAA ball for 15 years. Let me know if you still need someone.

I am sorry to hear this but hope it passes this year. It sounds as if there is plenty of interest for this change from your customers. 😃 I really cannot think of why SSUSA would not implement this change. In the Midwest it is not always easy to find enough 70 year olds to fill out a roster. I would think allowing a 70 year old team to have at least one or two 69 year olds would be a positive and reasonable change.
The players are interested in seeing what new changes are implemented each year especially the ones that benefit the players.
You most likely know this but all the other senior organizations (ISSA, SPA, WSL and NSA) do allow some 69s on a 70s roster and this helps team managers know that if they add a 69 year old to their roster then he is available for all tournaments.
Thank you for considering this request.

I would like to officially request SSUSA consider a player eligibility change for their next annual rules meeting. The request is to allow a small number of 69 year old players to be on the roster of a 70+ team. Thank you

Is SSUSA going to allow a certain number of 69 year olds play on a 70s team like the other 2 major senior associations allow?

With 27 teams in the 60 AAA Worlds bracket, understandably we have preliminary games all day from 8:00am until 8:00pm. If a team plays early in the day when will they find out when their bracket play starts on Friday? Do all the preliminary games need to conclude (around 10:00pm) before teams find out what time they play on Friday?

Yes, Managers just got the email yesterday with game times but why not post the game times on the website so everyone can see what is going on. I don't think you appreciate how many people need to see game schedules ASAP as families are trying to make plans around the schedule.
