Discussion: New Veteran CORE thread.....

I know that CORE bats have been hit at South Mountain College and another university. Also from a group of seniors in the Chandler area. It think these are test bats and not finished products.
I have seen the CORE painted white with graphics but have not hit it.
I think a group in upstate NY is going to be field testing in a dome sometime soon.

Taits; get you facts right. Steve is the owner and boss of the GSC project and is doing a great job. Many will agree that Bill is a stand up guy and has worked for many bat companies as a consultant. No falling out’s at all.
I also know that the CORE is worth waiting for and this whole factory stuff is hard to do. You guys think that they can just snap fingers and this bat is going to appear. I am sure that Steve has worked his tail off to get this to market. By the way there are no presales that I know of. Just guys waiting for replacements from the old China bats and my heavens we are only talking about bat so let them wait.

It seems that Bill has just been the voice of the company up an till a few weeks ago. My understanding that Steve McKinlay is the owner and is now running it all by himself. I was told that Bill will make sure that anyone due a replacement bat will get one. Not sure why Bill left but I wish Steve the best in getting this bat out. I don’t understand why Mckinlay would not come on here to give an update but I guess as the owner that is his call.
By the way that video from Taits is the old two piece. I had one and it was a good bat. Not a core bat.

Discussion: Bass Senior Bat

The Bass bat is not the Giant outfielder, same name but wrong player. The Bass bat guy played in the minors.
The Bass bat is from a standard stock of me too bats from China and is from the same as many other brands that use the same factory there. Just pull off the grip and you will see the same ID as other China bats.

I heard from good source that over half of the bats in softball are shaved and that many of those can past the compression test.

It all depends on how you define 'new'

Old school thinking has us measure performance in simplistic terms of the ball hit in the sweet spot with a certain exit speed. We will learn that performance can include the distance and speed (within legal limits) plus overall performance of the barrel.
As when we cast away our old cell phones for the age of IPHONE we will see the same with bats.

This is the American innovation aspect. How can a bat have superior performance and long term durability?
The answer is to toss the way bats are made and stop making a new version of a old song.
What is coming on July 4th is a departure of the old and will bring to rest that players can stop asking ‘will it last, will it perform’. Of course the proof must be on the field and players will have to see for themselves.
That day is just around the corner.

There has not been a new bat in the past 20 years.
Now there is…..
American born
American made
American innovation that will prove we can do it better!

July 4th , 2011 baby……

Your bat hits great and that’s all that counts. Forget the fact that most of the money you spent on that bat goes to support China and other companies outside of the USA. Forget the fact that Miken makes their bats here in the USA and supports local business and American families. This buy American crap is overrated and this is a global economy, we must do our part to help the cause.
The tide has turned and it is time to 'buy USA' again.
