Jan. 8, 2016 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Shiatsu Massager Thanks guys. Ordered one from Amazon. Need it for our first Winter league game on Tuesday. It's tough getting old. |
Jan. 7, 2016 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Shiatsu Massager I'm talking about an electric massager not a "person" massger. |
Jan. 7, 2016 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Shiatsu Massager Has anyone used a Shiatsu Massager for back or neck pain? Don't want to spend the money if it doesn't work for minor pain that's not disc related. |

Jan. 29, 2014 Rino | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: St Augustine SS Leagues A1A to 312 past US1 to 207. Left on 207 (about 2-3 miles) and left at 3rd light to Wildwood Drive. Treaty Park is about a mile on the right. If you're at Crescent Beach you can go west on 206, north on US1 (4-5 miles) and left on Wildwood at the Publix Shopping Center. About 2 1/2 miles on left. |
Jan. 28, 2014 Rino | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: St Augustine SS Leagues The St. Augustine league doesn't start until April. There's a 55+ league going on in Bunnell. We hit Sunday mornings at Treaty Park, St. Aug at 9:30. You're welcome to come. Rick |

Dec. 28, 2012 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Best leadoff hitter I thought I did OK with 12 for 13 in my last tournament until I found out Caleb was 21 for 21. Another vote for Caleb. |
Dec. 2, 2012 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Safe Senior Softball 200' may be short, but do most seniors hit a far as they did 30-40 years ago with wood bats? I played 265' fields, modified fast pitch and there were homers, but the ball was harder and the bodies were harder., except for mad dog's wood. 220' or 230' might be the correct distance for seniors. I probably thought of this due to taking a 100 mph line drive off my ankle while running at 3rd base. And it wasn't even a senior bat. |
Dec. 1, 2012 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Safe Senior Softball So many posts about the lack of safety in Senior softball. I was thinking of trying an experiment with a pick-up game using wooden bats on a little league field. There should be just as many homers on the 200 ft. field but the speed of the ball in play will be greatly reduced and the outfielders would have less ground to cover. The only drawback is finding a field with no pitcher's mound. This might be a nice diversion from the current game. OK, hit me with your best shot. Rick |

Feb. 18, 2011 Rino | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: A baserunner giving himself up and leaving field after being declared safe I haven't found a rule, as such, but if time was called the runner would return to the base and be safe. If no time was called the runner would be out for leaving the base , if he was tagged. I'm not sure tagging the base would be enough. |

Feb. 17, 2011 Rino | Topic: Bats Discussion: Recommend a hot bat Interesting thread. I play ISA open league, Senior league (48+)with no senior bats, and a 55+ winter league that allows senior bats. I used to play FL Half Century, but I gave up traveling. Defense plays a big part in all three leagues. The ball is hit harder and there's more home runs in the ISA league, but the young kids make some amazing plays. There's not much difference in the two senior leagues. Maybe a few more HRs with the senior bats. A lot of times the difference in winning or losing is one great defensive play to end an inning. I hate the five run innings in senior ball if my team is scoring them, but love to get off the field with only five runs if the other team is up. It does beat 3 inning run rule games in the ISA league. I think a lot of the drop off in interest is due to lack of sponsors (and additional up front money for the players) and rising league fees. Some people have other priorities for their money. (Still way cheaper than golf though) |
Feb. 15, 2011 Rino | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: BP in Jacksonville, FL area? Rhino, we have a senior league in St. Augustine that starts up late March, early April. We play double headers either Monday or Wed (still undetermined.) Since there's no senior league in Jax, we have many Jax players come down. The only drawback is "no senior bats". This league is very competitive with many tourney players. |
Feb. 8, 2011 Rino | Topic: Bats Discussion: Has Anyone Else Had Problems With The Reebok ME'LEE Legend Senior Softball Bat Because Mine Cracked After 45 Hits Any Durability Problems? My team used a borrowed 26 oz. balanced with 600 hits on it in a game last week and it was on fire. Bat still looked new, no noticeable webbing. Must of been from one of the good batches. I have a $99 U-trip Melee on the way. If it's 75% of the Legend, I'll be happy. |
