Discussion: 2016 melee

Yesterday I was taking comparison bat speed readings on 2 Adidas Melee 2 end load bats. One was the 25 ounce and the other was the 28 ounce. I took 5 practice swings then took 8 swings on the meter with each bat. I averaged the metered swings. On average I was getting 77 mph with the 25 ounce bat. I was averaging 75 mph with the 28 ounce version. While this is not the most scientific test ever conducted, it does give a good idea what to expect when comparing bat speeds. It's a toss up between the lighter, faster 25 ounce bat or the heavier, slightly slower 28 ounce bat. In the end it's going to be what feels best to each individual. The "ball exit speed" test would be a more accurate test as to which bat to chose.

If I don't get a e-mail of delivery from Suncoast tomorrow then I will be interested in cancelling my order and use the money to buy a Miken....

I'm starting to think I should have done that in the first place...

No Customs problems when buying American products!

Dbax

You are 100% correct.

Cougar is using a VERY LAME EXCUSE.

What would stop another person from using his rolled bat?

So it appears Miken and Dudley have two opposite approaches to get the same result.

Miken uses the same bat barrel length but changes the end load weight...

Dudley uses the same end load weight but changes the bat barrel length...

Interesting!

Of course it's nothing new.
Those extra holes have been in shoes for years.
So why didn't you mention it earlier when help was being asked for?

As I was running around today I noticed that wearing socks that are made of a smooth or silk like material causes my foot to slide inside the shoe more than when wearing regular athletic socks.

Discussion: BP Bat?????

I used to have a BP bat and a gamer.

The problem is there are all these "latest and greatest must have bats" that are always new thing on the senior softball scene.

So I've decided to just use the same bat for BP and games because when it breaks I'll use it until the next "latest and greatest" becomes available. That way I don't have a bunch of bats laying around. I had a Reebok Barrage by the time I finally broke it, the Dudley Lightning came on the market and is now in my bat bag. When it dies, I'll be looking whatever will be out there at that time. It's probably more expensive way of doing things but being a senior I don't plan on playing ball or living forever, so I may as well enjoy it while I can.

Discussion: Weighted Batting Gloves

Has anyone used Zano Weighted Batting Gloves?

They are endorsed by Wade Boggs.

They weigh 8oz each.

What I was curious about is how much can they help a batter's swing follow through?

I noticed swing speed is nearly the same with the gloves as is without the gloves.

It would seem like "heavier hands" on the bat would be a plus.

Any Input or Info is appreciated.

I just broke my Combat and I'm interested in replacing it with either the Barrage or Maxload. Any info on these two bats would be helpful in my making a decision on which to purchase.

Thanks
