I have used Combat for a few years now and I like the Dirty a lot. It was hot after about 30 hits.

I like my dirty. I guess every bat is a little different on break in. I'm 65 and 186lb so it takes me a little longer for it to be game ready. 90 swings taking my time.

I have been hitting the "Dirty" most of the season and I'm very impressed with the bat. The bat is hitting the ball as well as any bat I have used and it's holding up well. I have put my other bats away and using only the "Dirty" in all major tournaments. I have seen a couple of the bats with the paint falling off- one of our guys has a bat that has lost quite bit of paint but the bats I have been using still looks great with little or no paint peeling.

Good luck

My Dirty is nearing 100 cuts-and I have not had a bat last that many cuts in a long time. Plenty of pop-what more can I say?

Paint Job - I have seen one bat that the paint was coming off, I do not have a single blemish on mine.

As I always state, I don't sell bats, I hit them. If you like a certain bat then stay with it.

IMO - The Dirty is a great bat. I have about 500 swings on my 28ozEL tournament bat. The bat itself swings differently from the Reebok. The Dirty does not flex as much as the Reebok and for me I like that. I find the hitting zone to be somewhat bigger. I do have a Reebok in my bag, but I swing The Dirty. I would get a second Dirty, but mamma asked me how many bats I can swing at any one time. When I break the Dirty I can get another until then I take BP with my Reebok.

Since left put his stats up, I guess I will. 5'10"ish and 290lbs.

Yesterday I decided that I would side by side test my Reebok 29oz and Dirty 28oz. Reebok has about 600 swings on it and The Dirty 300.

Evil BP balls, great weather, but then what would you expect sunny Southern California.

No question I hit better with The Dirty. I don't understand the physics, but even though The Dirty has a more pronounced taper, it does not appear to flex as much. Both hit very well, but no for me and with my swing the balls that had the most distance were hit with The Dirty.

Again if you are happy with the bat you are swinging, don't switch. IMO most 1.21 bats are relatively the same, except for durability. To date, I have found The Dirty is the best bat for my swing.

Totally jealous that you can get 600 swings out of a 29 oz Reebok. I have had 3 last between 175 and 350 and the current one just passed 200 and is getting scary hot.

Have 300 swings on a 26 oz balanced dirty, at 5'10 180, not a bat breaker,,playing for aaa 60 Tx. team, batting no 2,, lefty, my job is to drive the lead off man to 3rd ( who is on almost all the time),, have had 5 u-2s 4 yellow mm combats 2 ree boks, and 1 combat ambush(small sweet spot) all 26 balanced, the dirty is very similar to the yellow mm,, grip, and sweet spot,,weighed 26.4 and real quiet on hits till the 300 mark, then started to sound with a deep whump,, with a bit more pop. the the yellow mm,, so far so good,, if I get a year and a half out of it, I'll be satisfied..

I purchased a 27oz Balanced Dirty and took it out of the wrapper for the Atlantic coast championships in Loudon Virginia.I was a little disappointed as I expected it to be hot out of the wrapper and after about 20 swings in BP used an Ultra II for the tournament.I have about 60 swings on it now and it still is not game ready.I rarely use senior bats in BP since they dont last.Usually I take BP with a Miken Freak and if the weather is below 60 or the ground is wet use a combat senior gear in games.I hope it gets broken in before it breaks.I am 6'2" and 240 lbs and play Major.

Steve L. Imlay, what is the weight of the Dirty that you prefer? Also, is it balanced or endloaded? I am thinking about buying either a 26 once endloaded or a 27 ounce balanced Dirty. I swing a 26 ounce endloaded Reebok but do like the feel of a 27 ounce balanced Ambush. I have decent pop with both bats.

I bought two 27 oz. end loaded dirty bats in February. I used one for BP using the tried and true break in method of 25 swings with 50% effort, 25 more with 75% effort and then taking full swings. It broke in very nicely and now am using it mostly for games. I have around 550 swings on it and it is performing great. The other is sitting in my closet. I'll start breaking it in tomorrow.

I too had an opportunity to swing Mike Kellys Dirty bat for a test trial, and while I am swinging Demarini as my gamer, I felt the Dirty was an excellent bat and one I would feel confident swinging. The Dirty I swung was only 27 ozs and felt pretty light, but the performance was very very good. If Imlay says its a good bat, his reputation makes it a solid statement.

We found that with most composite bats that if you buy 10 bats 3 will be hot 3 will be dudes and 4 will be average, I've hit a 26 oz balanced and a 30 oz balance niether one was hot both had just average pop. I've already brokr 5 bat since febuary so you would consider that into the situation

27 end load....I have used different bat manufacturers senior bats and you do find quite a difference in some on the break in and how good they end up being. If you get a good one of any bat...put it away ha

Interesting-it has been extremely wet here-we had the same system that flooded Colorado and we had almost 4 inches last week-about half of a normal year. The balls have been coming up totally wet in league, so I have continued to use my cracked Dirty to save my good bats. It is amazing-and I am not looking to see what side of the bat the ball is hitting, but I hit 2 long homeruns again with it yesterday. Even broken it still has great pop.

We are using the tattoo ball this year in league play. As promised, it does not get heavy in the rain or when the fields are wet. Distance wise, it appears fair with no erratic flight patterns.

RoyHobbs,

Sorry I haven't responded to your question - missed it somehow?? Anyway I swing a Dirty 30oz FL and I'm still very happy with the bat. I just ordered the new 29oz and another 30oz from Kelly Ultimate Sports. I have been getting somewhere between 700-900 swings before the bat breaks and then I get an additional amount of swings using the Tuff Sleeve utilizing the bat for batting practice. Look forward to see all the posters in Las Vegas just come up and introduce yourself I'm number 12 with Joe Brown's All Stars 60 Major plus and you will recognize me as I will be carrying Webbie's bats!!!

LOL-Steve-you know me by now-sometimes I put stuff on just for the reaction effect. It's been pretty quiet on the board, so I thought I would see if anyone was still here. By the way-if you wish to carry my bats for me it's great-my wife needs the break at times.

Steve L. Imlay, thanks for the information. I also am very happy with the Dirty. I have used many senior bats in the past including Ultras, Reeboks and numerous Ambush bats. I initially ordered a 26 ounce FL Dirty. The 26 FL that I purchased swings a bit light so I also purchased a 27 ounce FL that is now my "gamer." I must admit that this bat took more swings than a typical senior bat to break in; however, it is now just as good if not better than any senior bat that I have used in the past. I have used my Dirty and Ambush side by side and the Dirty has consistently hit the ball farther than the Ambush on multiple occasions. This bat probably took about 150-200 swings or so to break in, which is considerably more than any other senior bat that I have ever purchased. However, I am now very impressed with this bat, which is extremely durable and now results in the ball traveling considerable distances. My 26 ounce bat has at least 300 swings and my 27 ounce has approximately 250 swings with no signs of cracking or breakage. You indicated that you are getting 700-900 swings before your bats break. That is incredible and something that I am glad to hear.

A teammate told me yesterday that he and his bp partner hit their new Dirty 150 time before breaking. They contacted Kelly's and were told to call Combat. They did that and was told to return it. I guess Combat will look at it and then decide whether or not to replace it.

Combat Dirty Update: I played in a Florida Half Century tournament this past weekend in Fort Myers, Florida. The first two games the wind was blowing out slightly to right center. The last two games the wind was blowing out strong to left. Played four games total. Weight 188 pounds and 5'10" tall. I hit 8 home runs using a 27 ounce FL Dirty and then used a 26 ounce FL Dirty during my last at bat to hit number 9. By the way, I sold one of my Ambush bats and I am in now in the process of selling my last remaining.

Gee Doc aka Roy Hobbs, not a word of mention for your insanely patient batting coach? I must say you had a good weekend as I "only" hit 7 homers. Then again I think I saw 6 pitches that would have been strikes in 4 games.

Tri18 aka: "Alan The Hitting Machine," As much as I didn't want to, you actually made me laugh.

PJ3P aka: "Pat The Batting Coach, Patience of Job (pronounced Jobe) who hits home runs twice as far as me," Alright, I'll give you at least 75% of the credit (especially since my "slight" uppercut swing causes you heart palpitations, increases your blood pressure and results in bilateral retinal bleeding every time you observe my swing).

Slight? Only if slight means 45 degrees while staring at the sky! LOL And yes you do need wind aid when you are swinging up! BTW Robo won the HR derby at the Major World Series because his technique allows him to hit it through the wind!

Mark is crazy, but anyone who knows him knows this already.... I was batting after Mark in the line-up yesterday in league play and his cracked Dirty is still hitting the ball 330+ feet. I keep telling Mark that anything over 300 is just showing off anyway... To be fair, Mark could hit the ball 300+ with any old stick.

DCPete-I bought a second one-Mike Kelly looked at the cracked one-he decided it really isn't cracked, which I suspected, but it really looked like it with the way the paint cracked in vertical and parallel lines all the way around it. But it keeps on hitting, and has to be well over 400 cuts. I do highly recommend it.

DCPete, I have gone through 4 black Mikens since I got the Dirty. I get it! I t swings a bit differently than a Miken and it took me a while to get used to it. A lot of those cuts on the dirty were bp.
