50 Major Plus
In the spirit of fixing 50 Major +.......
We (all 50 major+ teams) should all really try and get a meeting scheduled in Vegas at the world tourney and share contact info and ideas and maybe even commit to certain tournaments for 2014 so that we could all financially, and time off work, plan for them. I like the dialogue on how to improve the division, I think if we were all playing in tourneys that were well attended then there wouldn't be any problems. So maybe communication and planning is more of a key to solve the major + issue. Lets all get together and commit to playing together in different locations so that we all share the expenses throughout the year. Would the Northern Cal teams agree to a trip to SoCal, or AZ, or Vegas if we would have a 6 team turnout? I think if you guys would do that AZ Elite would also plan on being in Nor Cal, Vegas, and So Cal or anywhere else. How about a major + meeting in Vegas?

Would all the 50 major + leaders please email me their contact information. I'll get it all into one document and redistribute to everyone. Then maybe we could jump on a conference call as we plan our 2014 schedule. I'm willing to spear head this effort. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm sorry to jump on your message, but..
I think that is a GREAT idea for ALL divisions.
I play 50 Major and would like that to happen in our division also. I really would like to play in 12-16 team tournaments that have different teams in it.

Just my 2 cents.

Count me in for the meeting.

I'd say we all look at three events during the year.

With them changing locations every season, so no one area gets a travel exemption every season.

We could call them the plus grad slam...

I'd suggest we also include the 55 Plus coaches.

It would be a lot easier to convince senior associations to help us out if we were coming with 20 + teams.... Heck...maybe the 50 Major teams would like the option also....that would get us to 50....Can you say...BLD

NCSSA has proven how successful PLAYER driven Associatins can be.

It's past time the players got together...

Sunday late afternoon at Worlds???

One thing you must consider with the off SSUSA tournaments. The venues and if the associations can handle a large influx of teams. You could put a tournament on the calender and find out they only have 4 fields. Things take time gentlemen. We have scheduled our tournaments for 2014 in Hemet where we have reserved a minimum of 6 fields (option for 8) in June of 2013. So those dates and fields are set for the 2014 season already. (see web site for confirmed dates) Temecula and San Clemente are done in September 2013 for the year 2014. But we only have about a 90% guarantee our returning dates are there when we ask for them. We can ask for other times but Youth take priority. If you guys come up with a tentative schedule the venues, the time of the year, possible weather issues all have to be taken into consideration. I think its a great Idea though. If we can be any help with this Jerry for sure will be at the worlds if you need him.

Meeting should be right after (or before) the manager's meeting on Thursday.

First thing I need from all Major + teams wanting to participate is contact names, email address, and phone numbers. We can even do a conference call which I can arrange. Please email them to me at davidquiroz37@gmail.com Any questions call me at 602-885-7550. I think if we communicate and agree to certain tourneys we can have some fun and really be able to compete. Hope this works. I'm willing to put in the work to make it happen.

I don't think our coaches meeting should have anything to do with the ssusa coaches meeting....

It should be a stand alone get together where many difference ideas can be shared.

Again....i believe this should be only managers/sponsors of Plus teams...50 and 55s.... Together we could accomplish many things....and....it would be good to have the major coaches also.

I think having all of us together supporting one agenda could create a large group that could be quit tempting for associations.....

The senior associations have what's called the senior summit.....I wonder if its possible to have a senior players summit?

I mentioned the managers meeting because that's where most of us will be at that time. I agree that it should be our own private summit.

Senior Softball. Is there anyway to get a list of the 50 & 55 major + teams and the managers contact info? I think we can drive better major + attendance to tournaments with some better communication between ourselves. Just need contact information in order to do so.
