I feel you. I am a little disappointed also. We are now less than a week away from possible games on Friday and my guys can not commit to reservations...We don't know if we should arrive Thursday night for earlier games on Friday, or we can show up on Friday for later games. The registration cutoff was almost 20 day ago.

Our 55 Major team played at 7:30 am Friday and the brackets were loaded with early games. I agree with twotwo...be ready for early games.

The reason we would like to know is that most people (players) in session #3 still work we haven't retired yet! So the least amount of days we have to take off the better!! So if we had a heads up maybe even a week it would just make it a lil easier for a lot of folks, thats all!!!! Thanks

I'm glad some people have options to when they can get there! But those of us coming from the east coast have to leave Thursday. No sympathy here. Be ready Friday morning!!!!

Look at last years bracket, there was 49 teams this year 48 I'd bet it would be fairly close to last years

Session #3 game schedules and brackets are under construction and should be released in the next few days ... There are 183 teams in the session, excluding the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team, which will be playing an exhibition game at Big League Dreams on Friday evening ... The field pressure is substantial, the brackets are large, and every available time slot will likely be utilized ... Games at most venues will commence at 7:30 AM and there will be 9:00 PM games more as the norm than the exception ... We have also added two softball complexes to handle the demand ...

The schedules and brackets are being drafted in Las Vegas, so calls to the Sacramento Home Office will not result in any meaningful information on availability ... They will know shortly after they are posted here ...

For those teams making "Late Start Requests", those requests may well result in a 9:00 AM start time instead of a 7:30 AM game time ... As others have advised, be prepared to play early on Friday ... Good luck to all!

I do understand how many teams are involved..but wasn't there a cutoff date and they've known all this for more than a week? I'm not complaining because we've had to have tickets for weeks, but other teams might need to know more than 3 days ahead. Hopefully they will be out 1st thing on Monday. I will question it a little if we don't see something on Monday.. No reason it can't be figured out with a week to work on it. I think that's being reasonable?

Ok, here we go again! SSUSA publishes the play dates for each age group when they post the master schedule. Then, most of the time, we get a "tentative" list of where that age group "may" play a few weeks in advance. If our age group, 65M is scheduled to play Mon - Thur, we assume we will be playing an early game on the 1st day. That way you are all there no matter what time you may play. If you gat a later start time, good for your team, sleep in or find a place to bat. I always tell our team that since we will be in the championship and/or the "if" game, don't plan on leaving before 5pm on the last day. That way EVERYONE knows how to schedule travel, hotels, etc. this process has worked for us for over 10 years playing 60s - 65s. I know it is harder on the younger age groups because of work, etc. However, I would want my team here, ready to play early on the 1st day. That way if some travel problems arise, no problem, you have some extra time to get everyone to the tournament, ready to play.
AND BESIDES ALL OF THAT, IT IS NO EASY TASK TO DEVELOP A SCHEDULE FOR 485 TEAMS!
Thanks and have fun in Vegas!!!

Chief, I understand your logic...but remember that most of the 40's (men and women), some of the 50's, and god forgive those poor souls over 55 whom still have children at home...we need to coordinate down to the actual game time. My last tourney in Phoenix, we coordinated to be there on Thursday, only to find out we were not going to play a Friday morning game. We are driving distance to both Vegas and Phoenix, so if we can save money by not needing to get a room for an additional night, spending extra money on eating out, managing the children away from home for an extra night, and don't get me started on coordinating a work schedule...advanced scheduling would help immensely. I feel more for the teams who have more of a distance to travel.

I do understand that there are a large amount of teams...that's great, more and different competition. But, at least do us a solid and give us at least 1 week prior to game day to know what time and day we are playing.

Don't get me wrong...I love SSUSA and playing in these tourney's, but we pay a lot of money and would just like a little customer service.

Cutoff is 3 weeks prior to our proposed first game day. That should be plenty of time.

50's just let me tell you that you need to come PREPARED to the park. As a just for instance we played in a 29 team bracket and won our first bracket game and then lost our second. We left the park LATE on Friday night 10:00PM and then started early on Saturday, 0730. We kept winning throughout the day but with DELAYS we never completed our day until 12:30AM! We started back at 0800 Sunday morning!
All I can say is wow! This weekend took me back to playing tournaments with the Bandits in those early years. Get yourself ready! Hang on! Good luck to all - and stay in the winners bracket.
I want to also commend the Park Director and grounds crew at Desert Breeze. They worked long and hard to get fields worked quickly and get games going. Those guys were all volunteers and were there after we left each day. Thanks guys!
