2014 season-player cards--TOC etc.
The deal with the new players cards, 2014 computer program not ready or whatever, brings up a point I often think about.

Maybe it's time for SSUSA to rethink the schedule. Why are the winter nationls the 1st tourney of 2014? Why not finsih the season with the Winter Nationals and the TOC still being played in Jan-Feb in Fl. With teams moving up and players being left behind etc., it can be hard for winning teams to reassemble a year later. With most of the northern and Canadian teams not playing until April or May, the staff would have plenty of time to get new player cards out.

Also, the TOC is a great event. Sometimes I see guys post about the lack of teams/competition. Everytime a team wins a ring tournament they are in and others out. Now comes a team who wins multiple ring tournaments and doesn't get moved up. Why not offered a spot to the 2nd place teams they beat. What about the team that dominates a ring tournament, kills everyone and gets moved up, obviously not rated correctly. Why not offer a spot to the 2nd place team.

Now, I know it is advertised as Champions. However, the final winner ofg a ring tournament is often decided on a single error, bloop hit or a really bad call by an ump.

I just think the TOC could be a really BIG event with most of the 2nd place teams being of high quality would make every game a real challenge.

You could add to your list of potential qualifiers the teams who are forced, in the qualifying tournaments, to play in mixed brackets with teams of a higher classification. If AA and AAA are playing in the same bracket, which is won by a AAA team, why shouldn't the highest finishing AA team also qualify for the TOC?
