Nov. 4, 2013 J R 251 posts | Horrible experience in the world. He did not tell you that people bring their sons no matter what so you play against young people. Most of the teams are made up people that come down from the north. They have been coming for years. No camp took batting practice one day then double elimination tournament. Was not told til I got there no senior bats. I had to go buy ASA bat. |
Nov. 5, 2013 Top42 Men's 50 1 posts | I have gone to this camp for several years and always have a good time. You play two games a day on very nice fields. The competion level varies from team to team and year to year, but if you want to play ball and get in some early softball it is great. A very nice group of guys, many have been coming for years. Al Schneider sees to it that you have a good experience. Injuries permitting, I will be going again. |
Nov. 5, 2013 Fred S Men's 85 297 posts | I haven't gone for the last 4 yrs, got harder to keep up with the young pups, and I really enjoyed it. JR is right it is not a Softball Camp where you get hitting or fielding help. It is basically a pickup team type tournament with 8 games. |

Nov. 5, 2013 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | I will attend Classic Spring Training in Jacksonville, Fl in the month of February. I will also be attending Softball Magazine's Spring Training, week 1, Cocoa Beach in March. I would recommend both. There is a difference in each one, depends on what you are looking for. Each focuses on batting practice with some scrimmage game thrown in. Softball Mag's also have clinics on fielding and pitching. CST has a pitching clinic and I'm sure if enough desire it a fielding clinic would be offered. |
Nov. 5, 2013 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Classic Spring Training in Jacksonville is a great camp to knock the rust off and get ready for the spring season ahead. Curt Hollis and his family have worked hard and put their heart and souls into their camp. I think you would enjoy your experience there. I did. |
