Dec. 12, 2013 traveler643 1 posts | Relocating across the country - Roster Rules I currently play for a 50+ Major team in one state, and will probably be moving across the country to another state. Can I stay on my current team's roster and continue to play tournaments with them ... or will I have to find another team to play for in my new state? Thanks! |

Dec. 15, 2013 SSUSA Staff 3466 posts | traveler643 - Generally, when a player moves his permanent residence mid-season, SSUSA allows that player to remain with his current team for the balance of that season, during which time he has an opportunity to find a new team in the new location for subsequent seasons. The advice provided above is incorrect. Please contact the SSUSA Office at (916) 326.5303 and ask for George to discuss your specific situation. |
Dec. 15, 2013 Lefty Men's 75 721 posts | Staff are you saying if I live in tenn. I can play with the panhandle hitmen 65 major team in florida. I know I'm right about spa for did it last year. |
Dec. 15, 2013 SSUSA Staff 3466 posts | A player who is an active member of his current team and who makes a permanent move of residency during the Season is generally allowed to complete the season with the current team. In the succeeding season, he must find a new team for which he is otherwise eligible as to residency and age. The advice given above regarding a player's specific circumstances applies here as well: Please call the SSUSA office for your inquiry. It appears that your hypothetical makes no mention of a permanent move in residency, so as stated, you would not be eligible to play for the FL Panhandle Hitmen as a permanent resident of TN, unless you have a valid snowbird card (for Major, AAA and AA ratings) or are one of two allowable out of region exceptions as a Major+ player. We have no opinion with respect to the SPA eligibility rules regarding residency. |
Dec. 15, 2013 Lefty Men's 75 721 posts | I have only 2 major 65 teams that border my state and their rosters are full. So what do I do when u ssusa put a limit on major players on a aaa team. AAA teams are scared to pick up a major for they might be jumped to major. I rather play major. Thanks for your time. |
