Arizona Sun Cities 55+ Sidewinders - Need AAA or better rated tournament players -Minimum Resident participation rules lifted!
The 55+ Sidewinders Tournament team (only) of Arizona is having an open one day only tryout on 02/08/14 @ 1:00PM at: 107th Ave & W. Clair Drive. (North of Olive and South of Peoria Ave in Sun City AZ) The field is located behind the Sun Dome in Sun City.

This season we have opened up participation to AAA level or better non-resident experienced softball players for our age 55+ team only. We are looking for experienced tournament players who will not need runners. If you cannot run for yourself please do not come out for the tryout. Bring your SSUSA ID card if you have one.

The fee is $150 for the entire year plus a $50 refundable uniform deposit. We will be filling the roster by selecting players at the conclusion of tryouts. Bring a check for $200 payable to The Sidewinders. The fee pays the entire year's tournament entry fees including Winter Worlds. We expect to play in 7-10 tournaments this year. We will be traveling in State during the summer months.

Our first tournament will be our Sidewinders sponsored tournament at Rio Vista in Peoria held the end of February.

Please call: John at: 623-583-3269 or Coach Don at: 623-271-2902 for more information.

Hi, this is Randy from the 50's AAA Arizona Bulldawgs. I just became eligible to play 55. I play first, I'm 6'4" tall, or play a very good outfield, weak arm, great speed and catching ability on the run. I've played ball for 40 years. I hit a lot of homers and hit for an average, usually 750-800. Will be playing with my Bulldawgs, but, would like to get to know some 55 teams for the future, and when our teams aren't playing at the same time, would like to help the 55 team out. I'll try to make the try-out Sunday, could use the practice for our tournament next weekend at Rose Mofford. We are also playing in the sidewinders at the end of the month. You can reach me at, 602-291-2164, if you would like to talk.

Hi, My name is Larry and I've played with the AZ Rangers, and Desperados of NM both were 60s AAA. Joined One Time a new team this year at 60s Major out of Tucson but the team folded after first tournament. Now looking for a team. I verified with George that I am still AAA. IMy forte is pitching but like to play 2nd and first also. I live an hour south of Tucson (Sierra Vista)and am currently playing in Tuscon's 50s league and 60s league (already playing) plus Sierra Vista Senior league which starts Mar 2nd. I also play in the Men's league in Sierra Vista. Good all around hitter (home runs and for on base) .700-.800. I have my SSUSA card good to 2016. Will try to make the trip up on the 9th plus also I have a friend that is a good OF, fast and normally our lead off batter who rides with me and plays on the same teams... Cell is 520-220-2592
