| Feb. 14, 2014 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | STILL PLENTY OF TIME: Southpaw's warm-up Tourney in Bham, Alabama Southpaw's Warm-up Tourney in Birmingham, Alabama Saturday, March 1; a one-day warm-up tourney at George Ward Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The park is also known as Green Springs Park; the address is: 331 16th Avenue South Bham. I have 5 fields and will take no more than 20 teams. It will be 4 team round robin, 3 game guarantee. 5 HR's, then walks; 1/1 count with extra foul; run rule is 15 after 5. Entry fee is $190 and includes umpires (2 per game), 6 softballs. | Feb. 27, 2014 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Typical Alabama weather, Vance! Years ago, I was a mailman in a Bham suburb. At 6 a.m. it was snowing; ground beginning to be covered. My supervisor encouraged all of us to hurry, get what mail we could prepared for delivery. By 11 a.m. I was headed home. At 3 p.m. that afternoon it was 50+ degrees!! Looking forward to a great day and meeting all of you. God bless and have a safe trip. |
| Feb. 27, 2014 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Just wanted to let everyone know that the park concession stand is excellent; not your typical burgers and hotdogs with condiments by the window. Turkey, ham, BLT, tuna salad, etc. and prices are very fair. |
