CHICAGO CLASSICS BOBCATS PITCHER PASSES
We wanted to let the Senior Softball community know that our good friend, and teammate,
Jim Brumund passed away yesterday, March 12th.
Many of you who played with, and against Jim, knew that he was a great pitcher. He played his position like no other, and hit like a champ.
Jim was a great friend, and revered teammate, he will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Respectfully,
Chicago Classics Bobcats

We are so sorry to hear this. I don't think you can say it much better than Chick. Even though I only had the pleasure of playing with Jimmy a couple of years, he was certainly one of the best overall players - in all aspects of the game - that I have ever played with. But more importantly, it was great to be around him!

We too, extend our thoughts and prayers to his family and the Chicago Bobcats team members.

Bob and Thorun "Lisa" Henning

Chick, Lindsey here. Very sad to read your post. Played against Jimmy and you guys for 10 plus years. When he was on the mound he came at you with every pitch and with a bat he would dust you off up the middle. Outstanding ballplayer, very tough, but always a gentleman. Condolences to all the Bobcats and Jimmy's family.

My prayers go out to his loved ones. He once said to Coachie and me "You bring the beer, and we'll bring the steaks, and we'll meet somewhere between Chicago and Indy and play games all day." I think that he knew steaks would be cheaper. We had traveled everywhere and kept playing each other; so it was a pretty good suggestion, wish we had done it.

I wanted to thank the SSUSA staff member for keeping Jim's article current, and for all the kind words, and the views that have been posted.

Very sorry to hear about Jim. Played against the Classics for many years. A tough team and class outfit. R.I.P. Jim,

Glenn Dixon, Indiana Legends 60 major.

I know this is an old pot but I recently learned about the passing of Jimmy Brummund. I was a teammate of Jimmy's over 10 years ago. He pitched for our team. He was truly a warrior on the mound. So sad.
