| April 8, 2004 TaterinGa Men's 50 179 posts | Easter Time I STOOD IN AWE I crossed the ocean, to go to Spain- To visit museums, all sunshine, no rain Museo Del Prado, the largest I‚ve heard- Pictures of people, landscapes & birds We stood in line for just a short while- We entered inside & began to smile On the strong, tall walls were paintings galore- Each level of entry gave our eyes more Different artists from various places- Took various paints, made many faces But then my eyes came wet with tears- As I saw Christ Jesus, just hanging with fear A bloody crown was on his head- A wounded side, blood dripping red A moment of silence, I let out a moan- This priceless jewel had left his throne To pay a debt he did not owe- To cover my sin, the cross he‚d go To be tormented, to suffer & wail- They pounded his feet & hands with nails From the beginning, it was written to be- This Lamb of God was to set men free In the Garden of Eden, she was deceived- Adam took on death, to be with his love, Eve Four thousand years later, Christ became the fact- His blood relieved man of his death contract For the wages of sin would destroy our life- But His shed blood removed God‚s strife Now we stand justified, on & on- We now can approach to grace‚s pure throne To present our case, never have to hide- Cause Christ, the Redeemer, is now by our side The real big question, I ask you today- Why work for retirement, to sit back with pay To play & travel & rest your tired feet- To visit fine restaurants, to feast on sweet treats And not have His blood applied to your heart- And then hear Him say, stand aside & depart For it is appointed for man once to die- If He says those words, you‚ll turn & cry But I give you „hope‰, I do assure- With Christ the great Savior, I offer the cure Seek for repentance, He paid the cost- When he died for you, on the „Old Rugged Cross‰ John W.
