Oct. 19, 2006 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Orthopedic Surgeon in West Have had a bad elbow for this past year. Just found out I have a floating bone chip. Anyone know of an excellent extremeties orthopedist in Colorado/Utah/Arizona. I want to see a good one to get this handled. Thanks, Ed from Colorado |
Oct. 20, 2006 doubleplay10 14 posts | Ed/ Surf88: Sorry to hear about your elbow. I had shoulder surgery in '95 and it has worked out well. Mine was done in Atlanta, the Huston Clinic. Rehab and ease of return to full use were my biggest challenges. Do you have a floater or some kind of bursitis? As far as the west....not sure, but you might check out these sites for more info: Web listing for MD reviews: http://www.physicianreports.com/ Elbow discussions: http://www.kerlanjobe.com/index.php~practiceId=1052&lib=Injury&dir=categories&categoryId=2022.html web elbow MD list: http://www.ases-assn.org/memdir/memdir.cfm Also, fyi, Dr. Frank Jobe, LosAngeles,CA: http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/bp/1431308.html (Tommy John surgeon) - Just a few suggestions out of many sources....hope to see you at Spring Training again, in Jacksonville in Feb. Nov. 28, 2006 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Hello Bob, I recently returned from Ocala, Fla where Robin and I went for Thanksgiving. I had my surgery 19 days ago. I had it done in Montrose, Colorado by Dr. Vineen Singh. He went in to the elbow with a 3 inch incision. He detached the tendon and muscle from the elbow bone (Ulma) and cleaned out scar tissue and gray matter that would not heal. Next, he cut the bone down to healthy material to get blood for healing. Next, he drilled a hole and attached a 3mm titanium anchor in the elbow and reattached the tendon and muscle. I begin PT this Wednesday and am hoping for the best. I hope I can be there for Spring Training. Hope you are well and enjoying life. How did you do last year? I played with a 50's team and we were runner up at Worlds in Seattle. Take Care Bob, Ed |

Dec. 21, 2006 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Hello Friends, I had my elbow surgery done on November 9th in Montrose, Colorado by Dr, Vineen Singh. He made an incision over my ulna (elbow bone) and detached my tendon from the bone. He cleaned up the unhealthy or dead tissue in the tendon and muscle, then cut the elbow bone down to healthy bone matter. He drilled and inserted a 3mm titanium anchor to the bone and reattached the tendon and muscle to it. It has been a tad over 6 weeks and he believes I will be back at my game by mid February. I am ahead of schedule for the healing curve. Thanks for your concerns brothers. Be well, Ed Andrews Scrap Iron/Utah Vets |
