Southwest Nationls
I would like to congratulate Git R Done men's 65 team. It was the typical Scrap Iron Git R Done battle in the Southwest Nationals. We had to play them twice to win the championship and we did. They did the same thing to us in 2013, almost a year to the day from this year's tournament. That is really not what I want to emphasize. I want to say what a pleasure to play Git R Done because everyone on their team is a gentleman. They exemplify what true sportsmanship is all about. Win or lose, they congratulate each of our players in a manner that you know is genuine. I hope that our Scrap Iron Classics team makes them feel the same way. It is a tribute to Jerry, their coach who sets the culture for their team. I know we will have more epic contests down the road, but it is always a pleasure playing your team, win or lose. Thank you Git R Done for setting the model for all Senior softball players.

We sure could use you Tom. Ranison is going to be operated on Monday. He is our shortstop. Ranison is a warrior, but he won't be back for at least six months. We miss you and would like to see you with us. Hopefully it will happen.

At the RISK of making this sound like a MUTUAL ADMIRATION Society, which is not my intent, The GIT R DONE 65's feel a great Friendship & camaraderie with SCRAP IRON CLASSICS. I have heard comments from folks observing our games & ALL our players actions, that are confused by our FRIENDSHIP(S) & the COMPETITIVE nature with which we play one another. Thanks DuWayne for giving me credit, but I just got very LUCKY & corralled a GREAT group of guys, just like you have. I believe both teams are happy for the others success even though one may be on the losing end of the battle. I know each of my teammates look forward to future battles. I can say that never in all my years playing ball have I ever enjoyed looking forward to playing a team as much as SCRAP IRON CLASSICS You just need to 'set' COWBOY & GATOR more often. Tell Randy we wish him luck with his pending surgery.

Hi Jerry, you are so true in the assessment of both teams. It is a pleasure mananging the Classics. I give a great deal of credit to four other ass't coaches who do an excellent job as well.
We are difinitley going to miss Ranison. He hadn't picked up a bat in a month or played ball. He came to this tournament just having eye surgery, still has one to go, plus he is having rotator cuff surgery today(4-28) He is definitely a warrior!! I will give him your well wishes from Git R Done. Give all the men on Git R Done my best, and you you as well Jerry.
