Albuquerque Senior Softball
I will be moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico in a few weeks and I was hoping that there is someone on the board who could tell me if there are any senior teams in Albuquerque and where they play.

I\'m not familier with the area but I could use Mapquest if you can provide a address or name of a softball complex where seniors play.

Thanking you in advance,

Cimarron

Albuquerque does have senior softball. I believe they play during the week in the morning at fields in the NE on Wyoming. I'm not sure how long their season is due to the weather. I will contact my coach who should have a contact person or persons for you.

What age group/div do you play? There is a 55+AAA and a 60+ in the area.

Thanks Boston, Hoppie and Froggy 11!

To answer some of your questions. I am 60 years old but I have been playing mostly in the 50 and 55 age bracket.

Froggy11, Yes I am interested. Do I need to attend the meeting that is in January? Let me know. I should be in Albuquerque by mid-November.

I also do a lot of umpiring. Do they need any umpires there in the Albuquerque Senion Leagues?

Thanks again,

Cimarron

Max & Scrappy6,

I can play most of the positions. If you asked people that I have played ball with, I think they would say I am a shortstop first.

I am willing to travel.

I have an issue that will keep me from traveling or playing until next spring so if that's a problem let me know.

As soon as I get to New Mexico I would like to contact you and set up a try out or whatever you want. If you would let me know your e-mail address I will do that. I cannot give you mine because it will change when I move in mid-November.

Thanks for the help,

Cimarron

Froggy11 & Kandy,

I am now here in Albuquerque. I actually live in the Rio Rancho section.

I was wondering if they play any pick-up games or if they just take batting practice this time of year? If so where do they do this and is it okay to join in?

If they don't play any ball this time of year, do they play basketball or something else to stay in shape?

Do they have any batting cages in the area? If so where?

Let me know.

Thanks, I'm trying to get hooked up with the senior softball community and I just need some help getting started.

Thanks,

Cimarron
