Mike Macenko's Ultra 2's.......
Just wanted to give the softball players a heads up about the new Big Cat End Load. The bats are in at Anaconda Sports. You can contact the SSUSA store through this web site and contact Mike at 330-419-0205 if you want to purchase one. The bats come in sizes 34-26, 34-27, 34-28 and there will be 34-30 oz. in about 2 weeks or less.

We are also selling the new Barrage. We have the Demarini One and a number of other Senior bats. Give Mike a call and shoot the you know what about softball. Have a great day and get ready because the weather is getting better.

You can check the bat out here for the specs on the bat.

Just a little note to the senior players. I will be in Loudoun County next weekend for the
ATLANTIC COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. I will be at Potomack Lakes Sportsplex on Thursday and Friday and at
Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park on Saturday and Sunday. I will have a number of bats for sale. I will have my signature model from Miken available along with other senior bats. Looking forward to seeing a lot of friends and having some fun watching some games.

Alan, that is great news. The Big cat bat is something else. I have had some players tell me they needed 40 or 50 swings to get their bat broke in. I have also had some players say that it has been hot right out of the wrapper. Then you are hitting bombs with the wrapper.

So I want to give some words of wisdom to the softball players. Bats are their own identity. Everyone. They are made the same but some might take longer to break them in than others. A great example is when someone just recently did some testing for that purpose. They took a bat with 120 swings on it and then hit a bat with no swings on it. The bat with no swings it hit the ball as far as the one that is broken in or should we say has some more swings on it.

The point I am trying to make it is don't give up on your bats. As I said the bat might hit great right out of the wrapper. You have to think to yourself if this hits this good while the bat is still stiff and no swings on it, just think how it is going to swing with 50 or more swings on it. Alan still had the wrapper on it.

My friend Billy Blake and Dave V. have put 600 swings on their bats before one broke. I think that is great because these men are strong hitters. So the key is just keep hitting the bats. Once the bats are broen in where the stiffness goes away and the sound changes then there is no telling what the Miken bats will do.

Good Luck..

Hit my new Big Cat end load today on a baseball field. 330' down left field line, 345 to center field. 2nd swing went 340'. Took 118 swings with it and hit 57 HR's. There is a second fence 77' past the 330' fence, making that fence 407'. After about 50-60 swings the sound of the bat changed and i hit 10 balls over that second fence. I probably hit 20-30 balls that landed 10 ft. short of the second fence. The bat changed sound again at about 70-80 swings. All I can say is if your an end load guy, you are going to love this bat. Due to the 1 oz. end load your bat speed will increase. The guy i was hitting with said that my bat speed was faster with this bat. This just proves to me what they say about end loads. It will increase your bat speed. Oh and by then way,I have never gotten more than 80 swings with any Miken before today. I believe its as hot as any bat on the market and so far no durability issues. Thanks to Miken and to Mike Mecenko we have another great bat to choose from!!!! It made me feel like the bats of old!!! I love this bat!!

Crusher. Don't judge a bat by a Mario review. He hits them that far with any of the bats. That's the kind of hitter he is. If I were saying what he is then you could go buy a dozen of them. Talking durability then ok ,but not how far he's hitting it.

Yes I will be in Reno to sell bats and talk softball. Looking forward to it. I hope the weather is nice. There should be some good games all around. Going to try and hit all of the complexes. Might have to stop by Virginia City and see if Big Hoss Cartwright is hanging out. Ha! Ha! Will have the new Mike Macenko Ultra 2 available along with a number of other senior hardware. Hope to see you there.

Back from Reno today and just want to say it was good seeing a number of friends playing softball. The astroturf parks in Sparks at the Golden Eagle Complex make for some real good defensive plays. Saw a number of them this past week. The fields are awesome and I saw a few real long homers as well. Saw John Heller hit one on the one diamond that made it to the road in left field. Player from East Bay hit one over the road a little bit deeper in left center. Saw Kruegs hit a couple of tape measure. All in all the ball was flying very well. It's Reno right! Had a good time selling bats and face makss. Congrats to all of the winners in their respective divisions. I will see you at one of the next ones. The hospitality was great also at Carson and Golden Eagle. See you on the road again.....

Mike,
Thanks for talking with me on the phone a few months back. I hope your hip rehab is progressing nicely.

I really like your signature bat-the feel & game performance are top notch. I actually put down my red maxload and made the Big Cat my gamer, but I have had nothing but bad luck with this stick.

As you know, I purchased this bat in April and it lasted me somewhere between 35-40 swings. First hit out of the wrapper went 400+ and I am not a big distance guy. I sent it back to Miken and they promptly replaced it. I received my 2nd bat about 2-3 weeks ago and took it out for bp on an 80 degree day hitting 52/300 & 44/375 balls. After 5 swings, the outside part of the end cap basically started flying off until only the center of the endcap was left. Performance was consistent with the first bat in distance and pop. I can only assume that someone slammed the end cap on concrete "by accident" for this to happen. Weird. The bat has held up for 30 more swings without any other sign of end cap malfunction.

Not sure what to do at this point, but I plan to swing it until it breaks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
Sean Morgan
