Atlantic Coast Championship
Omega IT Services LLC was entered into the Atlantic Coast Championship next weekend in Louden Va. We got a call from the assocation that we cannot play 55 Major because we are a 55 Major Plus team and that we are to strong of a team. In order for us to participate in this tournament we have to play 50 Major or get a refund. My concern is if we played 55 Major teams would have the option to hace 11 defensive players or 5 runs per game.I have a concern about the perception of Unequal Treatment.

Your perception is incorrect as to "Unequal Treatment" (although we are unclear exactly in what context you make the assertion) ... Your team, at 55-Major Plus, carries a Ratings Index of 8, which is identical to the Rating Index of a 50-Major team, also an 8 ...

We routinely offer any "singleton" team, meaning the only team entered in your age group and rating, one of three options, at your sole discretion ... Those options are: [1] Play in the equivalent ratings index group for fairness of competition; [2] play "EXHIBITION" with the lower rated teams, where you are guaranteed your five games, but are seeded last and cannot advance in the bracket; or [3] withdraw from the tournament and receive a full refund (or a full entry fee credit to a future event) ... You declined options [1] and [2] ...

We stand by our decision to not have you play 55-Major because it would present an unfair disadvantage to those teams ...

Is that what you are doing with Hamels in 65s......I would think they pose a danger to the other 65 s in Loudoun.

Hamel Builders/Superior 65's are playing with the highest remaining rated teams, the 65-Major, and giving the equalizer because there is no equivalent younger rating group to play ... We are also protecting the 65-Major teams in the event that Hamel's wins, by awarding the runner-up team with 1st place awards and the 65-Major TOC bid ... These are not identical circumstances ...
