I am so sorry to hear this news...I had the pleasure of playing with Ivan several times...What a hitter and more importantly what a great man and friend....Want to wish nothing but positive thoughts to all family and friends during this tough time.

we are still in shock here in dallas. he was a gentle giant with a kind heart, BUT A BEAST WITH THE SOFTBALL BAT.
one can never tell when it's time, meanwhile, enjoy family, friends, team-mates while one is here.
he will be sorely missed by his softball friends.

For those who may not know Ivan Dennis by name, he played 50 and 55 Major Plus for years with Randy Hendricks' teams. He also played with our 60 Major Texas Heat team occasionally last year. As Frankie said, Ivan was a man of few words but his bat spoke volumes!

Wow...My payers and well wishes go out to his Family! Ivan was a BADDDD MAN with that softball bat.....I had the pleasure of seeing some those Bombs go over my head as well as the fence on several occasions...He is a Legend On the Black Softball circuit and his Hendrick's teams were always one of the favorites in most of the tournaments he played in... Great Guy, Great teammate! He was quiet, but always took time to have a nice conversation with me!
You will be missed!

MAD DOG- i am told he had a heart attack. IVAN had been in philadelphia due his mom's illness, she passed away not that long ago. he had to take care of the family affairs there.

he had just recently returned to dallas, and then he passes.

this is what i was told by people close to IVAN.

terrible all the way around.

he was a great guy. his viewing at the EVERGREEN FUNERAL HOME, 6449 UNIVERSITY HILLS,DALLAS. @ 6-8 PM, I AM HEADING THERE SHORTLY.

SEE YA DOWN THE ROAD, BOB !

The Mtc 55 team received the sad news last week. Ivan was a great hitter but most of all a great man. We look forward to seeing the Hendricks team in October. Our prayers go out to them an Ivan's family. We consider your team as our competitor an also our friends. So sorry for the lost of a great guy Take care kurt.

The Nighthawks 55M+ send our condolences and prayers to the family of Ivan Dennis. We have had the honor and pleasure competing against this great player and even greater person for the past 5 years when we played Hendricks. We also look forward to seeing that great team of gentlemen known as Hendricks later this year, sadly minus Ivan.

Ivan was a retired Dallas Police Officer. He finished his career in the Mounted Unit. I played on the same team with him and played against him. He always had a good attitude and was grateful competitor whether he won or loss. He will be missed.
